A Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelors of Technology is a first professional undergraduate academic degree awarded to a student after four years of studying engineering at an accredited university. There are numerous branches within the broad field of engineering. It is based on these branches that we have in BE, B. Tech. and Diploma in Engineering programs.

Program Pattern

Degree Courses are of semester or trimester pattern. In the semester pattern, the 4 years consists of 8 semesters, i.e. 2 semester for each year. On the other hand, in the trimester pattern the 4 years consists of 12 trimesters 3 trimester for each year. In the second year onwards students have to undertake Internships at the end of each year for 1 to 2 months as per their branches.

Engineering degree courses can be divided three types depending upon the basic qualification required.

• The students who have appeared after completing the Higher Senior Secondary Education with Science Stream, i.e. PCM as major.
• The students who are already awarded with Diploma or Polytechnic accreditation can appear for degree courses from the second year of academic curriculum. This approach is also referred to as Lateral Entry.
• The students who want to apply for integrated courses, i.e. Bachelors+Masters in Technology or Engineering.

Future Scope:

• Job- After passing B. Tech, candidate can go for a job. These jobs are either provided by the Colleges you have completed your Degree i.e. campus placement. If you will not get campus placement, then you can apply for the companies by our own. These jobs are private basically.
• Government Sector Jobs- There are also jobs available in government fields. This you can apply either from Central Government or State Government Applications they introduce for positions in different department.  Students can apply for Indian Engineering Services (IES) examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
• Study- Apart from Jobs, You can also give your life in getting further education i.e. either Masters, PhD or MPhil.

Salary:

It may vary from RS. 20,000- RS. 1,00,000 depending on the specialization offered and the company and position for which candidate is being selected.
