About NEET MDS 2025

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will conduct the NEET MDS 2025 exam on January 31, 2025. NEET MDS, or the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Master of Dental Surgery, serves as the entrance test for postgraduate dental courses across dental institutions in India. The exam date was announced by NBEMS on November 27, 2024, through a common exam calendar. As of now, no additional dates related to NEET MDS 2025 have been disclosed.

The exam will be held in computer-based mode (CBT) and will last for three hours, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon. The syllabus will align with the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) curriculum, as prescribed by the Dental Council of India (DCI). Around 30,000 candidates are expected to take the exam.

NBEMS is likely to release the NEET MDS 2025 application form in the first week of December 2024, with the application process expected to continue until the fourth week of the same month.

NEET MDS 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for NEET MDS 2025 will be detailed by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) in the official information bulletin, expected to be released in the fourth week of January 2025. Based on the previous year's requirements, the tentative criteria are as follows:

Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from a university or institute recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI).
They must have registration (permanent or provisional) with the Dental Council of India (DCI) or a State Dental Council (SDC).
Completion of a 12-month compulsory rotatory internship on or before the deadline specified by NBE is mandatory.

Last year, the initial cutoff date for completing the internship was March 31, 2024, but it was later extended to June 30, 2024. It is anticipated that the cutoff date for internships this year will also be June 30, 2025.
