Exam Dates have been announced. CUET-PG Application Form has been extended till 4th July 2023Banaras Hindu University will conduct UET and PET examination for candidates seeking admission in various offered courses in UG and PG level. Qualified candidates of these examination will get admission in various courses of EngineeringManagement, Arts, Science, Education, and CSIT fields at the university and its afflicted institutions campuses. For Undergraduate Entrance Test (UET)

B.A (Hons) Arts Programme

  • Exam Mode: The Entrance test will be organized in offline mode (Pen and paper mode).
  • Number and type of questions: The exam paper will contain total of 150 multiple choice questions of 450 marks.
  • Time Duration:The time duration of the exam will be 120 minutes.
  • Subjects:The questions paper will have questions from 10+2 level or equivalent. The questions will be asked based on General Mental Ability, General Awareness, Basic Knowledge of Plants and Animals, Numerical Ability, History, Indian cultural heritage withspecial focus on major currents in Indian Thoughts, arts and literature, Population ExplosionHuman Health,Environment & its Pollution etc.

B.Com (Hons)/B.Com (Hons) – F.F.M Programme

  • Exam Mode: The Entrance test will be organized in Pen and paper mode.
  • Number and type of questions: The exam paper will contain total of 150 multiple choice questionsof 450 marks.
  • Time Duration:The time duration of the exam will be of 150 minutes.
  • Subjects: The question paper will consist of 15 questions each from Accountancy, Financial Markets, Financial Statement Analysis, Money and Banking, Economics, Business Organization, Basic Mathematics, Business Environment and Business Management. 6 questions will be based on Computer basics and 9 from Current Economic Affairs.

For Postgraduate Entrance test (PET)

M.Com Programme

  • Exam Mode: The entrance test will be organized in Pen and paper mode.
  • Type of questions: The exam paper will consist of multiple choice questions of total 360 marks.
  • Number of questions:The exam paper will contain total of 120 MCQs divided into two sections. Section A and B will contain 60 MCQs each.
  • Time Duration:The time duration of the exam will be of 120 minutes.
  • Subjects: The Question paper will contain questions based on topics studied in graduation level. Section A will contain questions from Income Tax, Accounting and Business Finance. Section B will consist of questions from Monetary Theory and Banking, Business Law including Company Law, Business Organization & Management, Statistics and Business Economics.

M.Sc (Physics, Chemistry)/M.Sc Tech – Geophyiscs

  • Exam Mode: The Entrance test will be conducted in Pen and paper mode.
  • Type of questions: The exam paper will consist of multiple choice questions of total of 360 marks
  • Number of questions: The exam paper will contain total of 120 multiple choice questions.
  • Time Duration: The time duration of the exam will be of 120 minutes (2 hours).
  • Subjects: The exam paper will consist of the questions from the graduation level of concerned subject. For M.Tech – Geophyiscs, the question paper will consist of questions from Mathematics and Physics of graduate level.

 

BHU Application Form 2023

  • Candidates will fill & submit the application form through online mode on the official website.
  • Aadhaar card will be mandatory to fill the application except for J&K, Assam & Meghalaya states.
  • The information bulletin & application form will not be sold in offline mode.
  • BHU online Application Form 2021 will be issued from the first week of February 2021 for both UG & PG courses.
  • The last date to fill the application form will be the first week of March 2021.
  • Candidates must have scanned their photograph and signature as per instruction.
  • Take a printout copy of the online filled up application form for future records.

Application Fee:

  • The application fee can be deposited through online (credit card/debit card) & offline (Challan) modes.
  • The Challan will be made from any branch of HDFC bank.

Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for the examination, candidates must check the minimum eligibility requirements. The eligibility criteria details are given here:

For UET Courses:

Age Criteria:

  • Candidates should not be more than 22 years on 1st July 2021.
  • 5 years relaxation in upper age limits for SC/ST & PC categories.
  • 3 years relaxation in upper age limit for OBC category.

Qualification Criteria:

  • Appearing Candidates can also apply.
Courses Eligibility
BA (Hons.) Arts Passed 10+2 or equivalent Examination with minimum 50% marks aggregate.
B.Com (Hons.)/B.Com (Hons.) Financial Markets Management

Passed 10+2 or equivalent Examination with Commerce/ Economics/ Maths/ Computer Sc./Finance/Financial Markets Management/Vocational courses (related to Commerce) as one of the subjects.

 

Secure minimum 50% marks aggregate.

B. Sc (Hons.) Maths Group

Passed 10+2 or equivalent Examination with Physics & Mathematics and any one of the following: Chemistry, Statistics, Geology, Computer Science, Information Technology, and Geography.

 

Secure minimum 50% marks aggregate.

B. Sc (Hons.) Bio Group

Passed 10+2 or equivalent Examination with Physics & Chemistry and any one of the following: Biology, Geology, and Geography.

 

Secure minimum 50% marks aggregate.

LLB (Hons.)

Passed BA/B.Sc/B.Com/Shastri (at least 10+2+3 pattern) with minimum 50% marks aggregate (40% in case of SC/ST).

 

Age Limit: Not to be more than 30 years (35 years for SC/ST) on 1st July 2021.

Note: For SC/ST candidates, there will be no requirement for the minimum percentage of marks (except LLB/BA LLB (Hons.). For OBC & PC candidates, there will be relaxation of 5% marks in aggregate.

For PET Courses:

M.Sc (Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Geography, Mathematics, Statistics, Psychology, Home Science) Passed B.Sc (Hons.)/B.Sc. under at least 10+2+3 pattern & secure minimum 50% aggregate marks.
M.Sc (Biochemistry) Passed B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biochemistry/B.Sc. under at least 10+2+3 pattern with Biochemistry & secure minimum 50% aggregate marks.
MA (Mass Communication) Passed graduate degree in any discipline under at least 10+2+3 pattern.
LLM Passed 3 year LLB degree after graduation under at least 10+2+3 pattern or five years LLB under 10+2+5 pattern.

BHU 2023 Syllabus

BHU 2023 Syllabus will be different for UG, PG and RET Programmes. Candidates can check the Complete Syllabus for various UG and PG Programmes from the information bulletin on the University website. Below we have provided the syllabus details of UET and PET for various UG and PG Programmes.

For UG Programmes

For admission into various UG B.A (Hons) Arts Programme:Programmes, UET will be conducted by the University. The Syllabus of UET will be from 10+2 level. The question paper will contain different topics as per the stream and programme opted by the candidate.

For admission into BA (Hons) Arts Programme, the syllabus for entrance test will contain questions from General Mental Ability, General Awareness, Basic knowledge of Plants & Animals, Numerical Ability, Environment & its Pollution, Natural Resources of Industry, Human Body, Human Health, Common Diseases, Solar System, Climate & Weather, Population Explosion, Production of Food & Raw Materials, History, Indian cultural heritage with special focus on current events in Indian Thoughts, literature and art. Also the question paper will include two sets of MCQs on Language comprehension.

B.Com (Hons)/B.Com (Hons) – F.F.M Programme:

For admission into B.Com (Hons)/B.Com (Hons) – F.F.M Programme, the syllabus for entrance test will contain questions from Accountancy, Money and Banking, Financial Markets, Basic Mathematics, Financial Statement Analysis, Business Organization, Economics, Business Environment and Business Management. Also the paper will contain questions from Computer basics and Current Economic Affairs.

For PG Programmes

For admission into various PG Programmes, PET will be conducted by the University. The Syllabus of PET will be from graduation level topics. The question paper will contain different topics as per the programme selected by the candidate.

M.Com Programme:

For admission into M.Com Programme, PET will contain questions from Accounting and Business Finance, Income Tax in Section A. Section B will consist of questions from Monetary Theory and Banking, Business Law including Company Law, Statistics and Business Economics, Business Organization & Management.

MCA Programme:

For admission into MCA Programme, PET will contain questions from Mathematical Aptitude and Analytical and Logical Reasoning. Analytical and Logical Reasoning will contain questions for checking candidate’s knowledge in logical conclusion, graphical/data interpretation etc.

Mathematical Aptitude will contain questions based on Matrices and Determinants, Logarithms, Inequalities, Permutation and Combination, Progressions, Binomial Expansion, 2-D Coordinate Geometry, Equations (up to degree 2), Function and Relation, Basic Concepts of Probability, Complex Arithmetic, Basics of Calculus.

M.A in Mass Communication:

For admission into M.A Programme (Mass Communication), the entrance test will contain questions based on General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Logical Quantitative and Analytical Abilities and Aptitude (inferences from graph, tables, percentages, etc.) and Language Proficiency including Proficiency in English Language.

Ph.D Programmes:

For admission into Ph.D Programmes, the entrance test will have three components, Test A, Test B and Test C. Test A will contain questions based on Logical and analytical thinking, Quantitative Ability, General knowledge, Knowledge of computer usages and language skills.

Test B will contain questions focusing on assessing the subject knowledge of the candidate in the discipline he/she has done Post-graduation. Test C will be research proposal and interview.

BHU 2021 Syllabus must be reviewed by the candidates before appearing for the entrance test. Candidates can check the Syllabus of UET and PET from the University Portal.
