IES/ISS Exam 2018 - Indian Economic Services / Indian Statistical Services Exam acronym as IES/ISS is taken by the UPSC for the recruitment on various posts in central government organisations/departments where ever the services of economists and statistical professional are required on routine basis. It is a type of Civil Services Exam Paper.

Selections for the IES/ISS are made on the basis of a written test comprising of the following given papers and Personality test of such candidates who qualify on the basis of the written examination

Note:The Examination in all the subjects will be of conventional (Essay) type. The Question Papers will be set in English only.
Personality Test /Interview Candidates who are short listed in the Written Examination are required to appear for an Interview which carries a maximum of 200 marks.
Educational Qualification
A candidate for the Indian Economic Service must have obtained a Post-Graduate degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics.
A candidate for the Indian Statistical Services must have obtained a Post-Graduate degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics from a recognized University/institution
Age Limits
Aspiring candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st January, of the year he is taking the exam.
Reservations as per governmental norms are applicable regarding age limits and job vacancies.
Nationality
A candidate must be either:
a citizen of India, or
a subject of Nepal, or
a subject of Bhutan, or
a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Srilanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
