Sainik School Entrance Exam 2023 - All India Sainik School Admission Form 2023-21 is released. Sainik Schools Society, New Delhi invites application from aspirants who are seeking Admission in Sainik Schools for academic year 2023-21.

Candidates will be able to Apply through Online/Offline Mode from 05th August to 23rd September 2019. All India Sainik School Entrance Exam 2023 will be held on 05th January 2023.

About Sainik Schools

Sainik Schools are English medium residential schools affiliated to CBSE. Sainik Schools prepare cadets to join the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla (Pune), Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and other officer training academies. At present there are a total of 31 Sainik Schools across the country

All India Sainik Schools Entrance Exam named as AISSEE in Short which conducted all over India to provide admission in Sainik Schools. Aspirants can take the admission in Class 6 and Class 9 after qualifying the AISSEE 2023 Entrance Exam

SCHOLARSHIP SCHEMES

Cadets studying in Sainik Schools are eligible for State Government scholarships based on parents income. Central Government also provides scholarship share at varying rates to those receiving State Government scholarships.
Children of serving defence personnel and ex-servicemen admitted on defence quota are granted scholarships by the Ministry of Defence.
Under a new scheme all boys studying in Sainik Schools receive about Rs.14,000/- per year as a subsidy from the MoD.
In some schools where amounts of scholarship are liberal, boys are studying by paying a very nominal amount. Cases have been taken up with the State Govts to increase the quantum of scholarship and the income slabs wherever they are less.

To enable children of Defence Services personnel and children from weaker sections of Society to study in Sainik Schools and avail of public school education facilities, the Ministry of Defence awards scholarships and financial assistance as under:

a) Scholarship to wards of Defence/Ex-Defence personnel.

b) Centre share to those cadets who are in receipt of State Govt scholarships.

c) Financial incentive to boys joining NDA and Central Assistance to all boys studying in Sainik Schools.

Scholarship to wards of Defence personnel - Ministry of Defence awards a limited number of scholarships on merit-cum-means basis to the children of Defence personnel (including ex-servicemen) selected for admission to Sainik Schools. In case of serving personnel of Defence Services, amount of scholarship would be determined on the basis of rank and not the emoluments or the annual income of the personnel. The scholarship to children of service personnel/ex-defence will be admissible as under:-

a) Children of NCOs and ORs -Full scholarship i.e. Rs.32,000/-

b) Children of JCOs -Half Scholarship i.e. Rs.16,000/-

c) Children of Commissioned Officers-No scholarship

Eligibility Criteria for Sainik School AISSEE 2023

Age Limit

Age Limit criteria for admission in Sainik School as on 2023
Class 6 - 10 to 12 years
Class 9 - 13 to 15 years
The Entrance Examination will be held for admission to class VI & IX. Boys who are between the age of 10 to 12 years and 13 to 15 years respectively on 31st March of the year in which admission is sought are eligible to take the Entrance Exam. For admission to Class IX, the boys should be studying in Class VIII in a recognized school. Admission will be made strictly in order of merit only in classes VI and IX.
Only boys’ candidates are eligible to take admission in Sainik School all over India

Medium/Language

Class 6 - English/ Hindi/ Local Language of the State
Class 9 - English Language Only

Application Fees

The Registration charge are included in the selling price of the prospectus-cum-application forms
1. Candidates who belongs to General and Defence Category: Rs.400/-
2. For SC/ST Category Candidates - Rs.250/-

Reservation

25% of cadets in NDA are from Sainik Schools.
15% of the total seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes and 7½% seats for Scheduled Tribes.
Out of the remaining, 67% of the seats will be reserved for boys from the State in which the Sainik School is located. Balance 33% left over of seats will be thrown open to boys from other States and Union Territories in the ratio of their male population
Any unutilized seats in this category will be merged with home State seats (In this connection, please refer to this office letter No. 4(1)/SSS/2016) dated 5th July 2017) in order of merit.
25% seats are reserved for children of service personnel including Ex-servicemen

Admission is based on an entrance test comprising Maths, GK (Sc & Sst),Language and Intelligence for Class VI; Maths, Intelligence, English ,General Science and Social Studies for Class IX, followed by Interview and medical examination.

Sainik Schools admit boys in classes VI & IX on the basis of their merit in the Entrance Examination and an Interview.

Exam Pattern

The medium of Examination for Class VI examinations will be English, Hindi. The question papers for Class VI will continue to be set in English and all the recognized official languages. But question papers for class IX will be set in English only and students are required to answer in English.

In addition to 300 marks prescribed for Written Examination for Class VI and 400 marks for Class IX 50 marks for both VI & IX classes would be set apart for interview. The merit list for admission to the Sainik School would be complied on the basis of total marks. In case there is a tie with regard to overall marks, the marks for mathematics would be considered. In case there is a tie here also the marks for English for Class IX and Intelligence Test for class VI will be considered and thereafter the marks for General Science for Class IX and language for Class VI. In case there is a tie there also the boy younger in age will be selected. It will not be necessary for a boy to qualify separately in the interview and marks obtained in the writer test and interview together will determine his position in the final merit list.
