CTET is a national-level exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted twice a year to determine the eligibility of candidates for appointment as teachers for Classes 1 to 8. The CTET exam is held in two sessions for Paper 1 and Paper 2. The CTET Paper 1 is for candidates who want to teach Classes 1-5 and Paper 2 is for candidates who want to teach Classes 6-8. Candidates who wish to teach Classes 1-8 need to take both papers.

The CBSE is likely to release the CTET admit card 2023 soon. The admit card is an important document that candidates need to carry to the examination centres on the day of the exam. The admit card contains the following details:
CTET Registration vs Result
Every year, over 20 lakh aspirants appear for the CTET exam. In January 2023, a total of 23,51,725 candidates appeared for the exam, of which, 6,54,299 candidates qualified. In December 2023, close to 24 lakh candidates appeared for CTET out of which 5.42 lakh qualified, as per media reports. In July 2019, a total of 23.77 lakh aspirants took the CTET exam out of which 3.52 lakh candidates qualified.
The CTET selection process includes the following steps:
Aspirants need to fill their CTET 2023 application forms in the online mode on the official website of the exam. Candidates also need to pay the CTET application fee of INR 1,000 (for one paper) and INR 1,200 (for two papers).
Candidates can download CTET 2023 admit card from the official website of the exam. The admit card for the CTET exam contains relevant details related to the aspirant and exam. It also mentions the candidate’s test centre details as well as reporting time for the exam.
Aspirants need to report at their CTET exam centres at least 90 minutes before the commencement of the exam. CTET exam is of two and a half hour duration. On exam day, two papers are conducted. Paper 1 needs to be given by aspirants who want to qualify for teaching Classes 1 to 5 (primary wing). Paper 2 is for candidates who want to qualify for teaching classes 6 to 8 (elementary wing).
CBSE announces CTET results on the official website of the exam. Candidates who qualify the exam get a CTET eligibility certificate. The validity of the CTET eligibility certificate has been extended from seven years to lifetime.

CTET 2023 Syllabus
The CTET syllabus is prescribed by the CBSE. The syllabus includes topics from which questions are asked in the exam. The CTET Paper 1 syllabus includes topics from five sections such as Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics and Environmental Studies. On the other hand, CTET Paper 2 comprises topics from four sections, namely, Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Sciences. Though the Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I and Language-II sections are common in both papers, the nature and the standard of questions are different in both. Candidates should go through the syllabus in detail to be familiar with the important topics.
