MAT 2024 Exam: Testing Modes & Key Difference
AIMA is conducting MAT 2024 in three testing modes as under:

  1. Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT): You can appear in IBT MAT from your Home
  2. Paper Based Test (PBT): Paper Pen based MAT 2024 exam is conducted at test centres
  3. Computer Based Test (CBT): Computer Based MAT 2024 exam is conducted at test centres

MAT 2024 Exam: Test Taking Options
You can take one or more than one type of MAT 2024 Exams in different modes. Following combinations are offered by AIMA to appear in different testing modes:

Students can choose any of the following combinations for taking the MAT 2024 exam:

  1. PBT (Paper-Based Test): Take the exam in the traditional paper format at a designated test center.

  2. CBT (Computer-Based Test): Take the exam on a computer at a designated test center.

  3. IBT (Internet-Based Test): Take the exam remotely from home or another location using a personal device with internet connectivity.

  4. IBT + IBT: Take the Internet-Based Test twice, on different dates.

  5. CBT + IBT: Take the Computer-Based Test once and the Internet-Based Test once.

  6. PBT + IBT: Take the Paper-Based Test once and the Internet-Based Test once.

  7. PBT + CBT: Take the Paper-Based Test once and the Computer-Based Test once.

IBT, CBT or PBT Testing Mode? Which is better option…
MBA Exam experts and past MAT toppers suggest the candidates to opt for IBT Mode due to the uncertainty in Paper based and computer based exams at the test centres. In the current situation, IBT from their home is the best option after complying with the AIMA norms. The difficulty level in IBT exam is similar to PBT and CBT mode of exam.

MAT 2024 IBT Mode: Important Guidelines and Benefits
Students can take the MAT exam from home, saving travel time and expenses. Over 600 B-Schools in India accept MAT scores, including 350+ institutes registered under AIMA. Each institute sets its own MAT score cutoffs, typically above the 80th percentile. The mandatory exam fee must be paid online (PBT, CBT, IBT: INR 2,100; Both PBT and CBT: INR 3,300). Payment confirms candidature acceptance, with no provision for fee refunds or form corrections. Mistakes require re-registration and fee repayment.
