NDA 2021 Application Form can be filled till 28th January 2021The exam will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). UPSC NDA entrance exam is a gateway for the aspirants who want to make their career in Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. This national-level test is held twice (NDA I and NDA II) every year in the months of April and November. Candidates have to first qualify the written test with the minimum qualifying marks and then appear for the SSB Interview round to get entry into NDA. After clearing the SSB round, qualified candidates will go through the medical examination and document verification process. Through this article, we have provided complete details regarding NDA 2021.

NDA 2021 Application Form

Go through the complete details of application form of NDA 2021 below:

  • The  NDA Application form has been released on 8th January 2021 and for NDA II in 10th June 2021.
  • The Application form can be filled in two parts – Part I and Part II.
  • In Part I of the application process, candidates have to fill their basic and other important details in the form.
  • In Part II of the application process, candidates are required to select their exam centre, upload their photograph and signature, pay the application fee and confirm the declaration.
  • After the final submission of the application form, candidates must preserve the printout of the application form, fee payment and identical photograph as uploaded in the application.
  • The application form can be withdrawn online from 4th February to 11th February 2021 till 6 pm.
  • Candidates must fill the application form carefully as no modification or correction in the application can be made after the final submission of the form.

Application Fee:

The application fee for all the candidates is Rs.100.

However, ST/SC/NCOs/Ors/Sons of JCOs candidates are exempted to pay the application fee.

Mode of Payment: The application fee can be paid by the applicants through SBI Bank Challan method or debit or credit card/net banking method.

NDA 2021 Admit Card

NDA 2021 Admit Card for the session I and II will be published a few days before the commencement of entrance exams. To download the admit card by online mode, students have to enter their date of birth/roll number, registration id and other asked details.

The Admit card will contain necessary information about the candidate and the exam. It will contain the student’s name, exam centre, roll number, exam date and timing, exam centre address etc. In case any mistake arises in the details of the admit card, candidates must contact the officials immediately.

NDA 2021 Answer Key

After the declaration of the result of NDA 2021, the answer key will be released by various coaching institutions. Candidates will be able to access the answer key through online mode. It will be given in different sets for various subjects.

Using the marking scheme and the answer key, candidates will be able to calculate their probable score of the written test. It will give a rough idea to the candidates about their qualifying chances.

NDA 2021 Result

The Result of NDA 2021 will be released on the website after the commencement of the written test and release of answer key. The result of NDA I will be published online in the month of May 2021 and NDA II in the month of November 2021.

The result will be released in the form of PDF consisting names of the candidates qualifying the written test. Candidates who are successful in qualifying the written test with the minimum qualifying marks will be considered eligible for SSB Interview round.

NDA 2021 Cut Off

The overall and sectional cut off marks will be published by the board after the declaration of results. Candidates must qualify the written test in order to become eligible for further admission process.

According to the previous trends, it is expected that the cut off for written test will be 342 and the final overall cut off will be 708.

NDA 2021 Selection Procedure (SSB Interview)

After the written test of NDA 2021, candidates qualifying the exam successfully as per the prescribed qualifying marks will be called for the SSB interview round. The SSB interview will be conducted in various rounds in five days and all the selected candidates have to appear in all the rounds.

Candidates on the first day of SSB Interview will go through psychological tests which will include – Picture Perception and Description Test (PPDT), Intelligence test and filling up of Personal Information Questionnaire (PIQ) forms.

The second day of SSB interview will include the tests related to – Word Association test, situation reaction test, thematic apperception test and self-description test.

The third day of interview will be related to Group Discussion Test, Military Planning Exercise, Lecturettes, Intergroup Obstacle race or Snake race, Progressive Group Task, half group task, command task and personal interview for some candidates by the President.

The fourth and fifth day will include tests related to Individual Obstacles, Final Group Task, Interview for remaining candidates, final board conference and announcement of results.

NDA 2021 Preparation Tips

Candidates can follow the below provided NDA preparation tips to enhance their preparation of exam:

  • Review the syllabus, pattern of exam, marking scheme of the exam.
  • Prepare short notes while studying various topics. Note all the important points at one place.
  • Solve previous year’s exam papers and sample papers. This will help the candidates to know the exam trends and type of questions.
  • Prepare for the exams from good study sources like books, online tutorials, online apps etc.
  • Attempt online or offline mock tests to increase your speed and accuracy level.

 

Eligibility criteria for NDA

Nationality: A candidate must either be:

  1. a citizen of India, or

  2. a subject of Bhutan, or

  3. a subject of Nepal, or

  4. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

  5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of  Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limits 

  • Candidates born not earlier than 02nd January 1999 and not later than 1st January 2002 are eligible.

Marital Status

  1. Only unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply.

  2. Candidates must undertake not to marry until they complete their full training

  3. A candidate who marries after the date of his application though successful at this or any subsequent Examination will not be selected for training.

  4. A candidate who marries during training shall be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by the Government.

Educational Qualifications

  1. Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.

  2. Candidates appearing in the 11th class exam are not eligible for this examination.

  3. Those candidates who have yet to qualify in the 12th class or equivalent examination and are allowed to appear in the UPSC Examination should note that this is only a special concession given to them.

  4. Those candidates who have failed INSB/PABT earlier are not eligible for Air Force.

For Army Wing of National Defence Academy

  • 12th Class passes of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy.

  • 12th Class passes of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Physical Standards

  1. Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2016 as per guidelines are given in Appendix-IV. (I.e. some Qualified Candidates Are Rejected Subsequently On Medical Grounds. Candidates Are Therefore Advised In Their Own Interest To Get Themselves Medically Examined Before Submitting Their Applications To Avoid Disappointment At The Final Stage. Candidates are also advised to rectify minor defects/ailments to speed up finalisation of a medical examination conducted at the Military  Hospital after being recommended at the SSB)

  2. A candidate who has resigned or withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from any of the training academies of Armed Forces is not eligible to apply.

Visual standards

  1. The distance vision (corrected) should be 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in the worse eye. Myopia should not be more than 2.5 D and hypermetropia not more than 3.5 D including Astigmatism. Internal examination of the eye will be done using the ophthalmoscope to rule out any disease of the eye.

  2. A candidate must have good binocular vision. The colour vision standard will be (CP-III)  for Army. A candidate should be able to recognise red and green colours. Candidates will be required to give certificates that neither he nor any member of his family has suffered from congenital night blindness.

  3. Candidates who have undergone or have the evidence of having undergone Radial Keratotomy, to improve the visual acuity will be permanently rejected for all the Services. Candidates who have undergone Laser Surgery for correction of the refractive error are also not acceptable to defence services.

Vision standard for naval candidates

  1. Uncorrected without glass 6/6,  6/9

  2. Corrected with glass 6/6,  6/6

  3. Limits of Myopia –0.75

  4. Limits of Hypermetropia +1.5

  5. Binocular Vision III

  6. Limits of colour perception I

NDA Exam Pattern

The exam pattern details are given here:

  • Type of Question: There will be objective type questions asked in the examination.

  • Exam Mode: The exam will be conducted through pen and paper-based mode.

  • Exam Duration: Two and half hour duration will be given for Code 1 and Code 2.

  • Section: The exam will consist of two sections like Mathematics and General Ability Test.

  • Language: The question paper will be asked in bilingual, i.e. English & Hindi only.

NDA Syllabus

  • Before preparing for the examination, candidates should gather all the details regarding officially prescribed syllabus.

  • The syllabus has been divided into two sections, i.e. Mathematics & General Ability Test.

  • The mathematics section will contain topics like Trigonometry, Differential Calculus, Algebra, Integral Calculus & Differential equations, Statistics, Probability, Vector Algebra, etc.

  • The general ability section is divided into two parts, i.e. English and General Knowledge.
