IIAD Entrance Exam “Design Aptitude Test ( iDAT )” is a qualifying entrance test for admission to Bachelor degree courses in Fashion Design, Interior Architecture & Design, and Communication Design, offered by Indian Institute of Art & Design, New Delhi. IIAD Entrance Exam 2024 was conducted on 31st May and June 1, 2024 in online mode and offline mode.

The entrance comprises two sections, which have Objective types - multiple-choice questions, Drawing & Sketching, and Descriptive answer questions.

  • Maximum marks are 200 and marks allotted to each correct answer are distinct as per the type of the question.
  • Negative marking scheme is not applicable in IIAD Entrance Exam 2024.
  • IIAD Entrance Exam 2024 test paper will be based on 02 subjects. Each section has distinct numbers of questions.

Following are the General Instructions for IIAD Entrance Exam 2024 a candidate must follow:

  • Candidates are advised to reach at examination center at least 30 minutes before commencement of IIAD Entrance Exam 2024 examination.  
  • Do not open the sealed Response Sheet and question paper before the receiving the instructions from invigilator.
  • Read instructions carefully to mark responses on Response Sheet.
  • Marks in circles for responses should be made with Blue or Black Ball Pen Ink.
  • Making changes to your responses in OMR sheet is not possible, so mark answers carefully.
  • No smudge marks or rough should be done on the question paper
  • Check pages of Question paper and Response Sheet, if there is any issue, immediately bring it to the notice of the Invigilator and get it changed.
  • Candidate will have to bring some accessories as per the requirements of the test paper:
  1. Pens / Pencils
  2. Dry Colours (Pencils / Paste)
  3. A Ruler
  4. Sketch Pen / Coloured Pen
  5. Gluestick
  6. A small pair of Scissors
  • Blank paper sheets will be provided to the candidates for creating drawings and doing rough work.
  • Answer scripts should be submitted to the invigilators after completion of scheduled time.

IIAD Entrance Exam Counselling 2024:

The counseling process will begin after the declaration of the result. In IIAD Entrance Exam 2024 Counseling, candidates will be allotted seats in the desired courses on the basis of their ranks and choices. Candidates should take all the original documents on the day of the counseling process. After the confirmation of admission, candidates can attend their classes from the month of May or June 2024 onwards

iDAT Exam 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Students who have passed 10+2 in CBSE/ISC/IB or any other equivalent board are eligible and can apply for iDAT 2023. Candidates awaiting for Class XII results can also apply.

Candidates who have scored 70% and above aggregate in CBSE or IB or ISC or any other equivalent board are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Performance in iDAT, portfolio assessment, and studio simulation will also be considered for scholarship approval.

Lateral entry admissions are done if the student has done their previous year of course in any nationally or internationally recognized institutions. IIAD accepts applications for transfer to IIAD for the design program (in Fashion Design, Communication Design or Interior Architecture & Design) from students who completed previous year(s) of their degree in design or diploma program from a nationally or internationally recognized Design Institute.

IIAD Entrance Exam 2023 exam syllabus for two sections of test paper is generally based on Class 10th and 12th standard curriculum even though there is specified syllabi defined by the institute.
