The prestigious Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, abbreviated as FTII, conducts its national level entrance test annually for candidates who wish to pursue postgraduate and post-graduate diploma courses. A Joint Entrance Test (JET) is conducted by two stalwart institutes:

  •  Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune
  • Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata

The shortlisted candidates are offered admission by the two institutes. There are two wings under FTII - Film Wing and Television Wing. For the 2023/24 academic year, the Joint Entrance Test (JET) has been successfully conducted and students now await for the results which will be tentatively released in the third week of May, 2022.

The Film wing teaches the courses which are vital for any aspiring candidate such as direction & screenplay, writing, editing, acting, cinematography, feature film screenplay writing, sound designing and recording and art direction & production design. Whereas, the Television wing offers courses such as directions, electronic cinematography, sound recording & television engineering and video editing.

FTII JET Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to take admission in FTII or SRFTI must be eligible to sit for the FTII JET 2022 entrance exam. Aspirants must be above 21 years of age and should have a bachelor’s degree. For each course, the criteria may vary. The courses along with the criteria are mentioned below:

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with Physics as a subject at senior secondary (10+2) level.

Candidates appearing for the final year of their Bachelor's degree, and awaiting results, can also apply for JET 2022. However, it may be noted that such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme, only if they submit a passing certificate from the Principal / Registrar of their University/institution (issued on or before the date as stipulated by the respective institute) stating that they have completed all the requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s degree, on the date of the issue of the certificate.
