XAT Exam Eligibility

XAT exam eligibility over the years has remained unchanged. XLRI does not propose to change the XAT exam eligibility criteria for XAT 2023 exam either.

XAT eligibility for 2023 exam prescribes ‘No Age Bar’ to appear in the XAT 2023 exam. XLRI also does not restrict any candidate to seek admission in XAT MBA eligibility to seek admission based on.

According to XAT 2023 eligibility criteria, a candidate is eligible to appear in XAT 2023, if he/she holds recognized Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 3 years duration or equivalent in any discipline. Those completing their final graduation exam by June 10, 2023, ay also apply.

XAT exam eligibility criteria further clarify that candidates in the l year of Graduation are also eligible to apply for XAT 2023. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if she/he submits a certificate from the Principal/ Registrar of the College/Institute stating that the candidate has completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate.

XAT 2023 is the mandatory exam for admission to member and associate B-schools for Indian candidates, the NRI and foreign candidates may apply through their valid GMAT scores. Candidates in Dubai and Kathmandu have the option of appearing in XAT 2019 or applying through GMAT scores.

Key Points to ensure your XAT eligibility 2023

• XAT eligibility does not impose any age bar to appear in XAT 2023 exam.

• The candidate applying for XAT 2023 must fulfil one of the following XAT eligibility criteria 2023-

            A. Completed Bachelor’s degree, or
            B. Completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA), or
            C. Should be in the final year of Bachelor’s degree 

• The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate would be calculated based on the practice as followed by the respective University/Institution.

• In the of grades / CGPA, the conversion to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure as certified by the respective University/ institution following exam criteria minimum eligibility for XAt ensure consideration for shortlisting other applicant applies for admission

• One of the key points prescribed by XLRI  in XAT eligibility 2023 is that the candidates must declare and maintain a valid and unique email account and a phone number throughout the selection process

XAT Syllabus 2023 

Before preparing for the XAT exam, candidates must have complete knowledge of the XAT syllabus. There is no such fixed XAT 2023 Syllabus for XAT examination, students can prepare for the exam from these topics which are mentioned below:

Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation:

Arithmetic, Functions, Geometry, Mensuration – 2D and 3D, Probability, Algebra, Graphs, Heights & Distance, Speed & Distance, Statistics, Direction Sense & Time, Table and Data Interpretation – Web Diagram, Variation, Time and Work, Time, Speed and Distance, Linear and Quadratics Equations, Surds and Indices, Inequalities, Logarithms, Numbers, Tables and Caselets, Critical Path, Averages and Partnerships, Alligations and Mixtures, Algebra, Percentage, Profit and Loss, Ratio.

English Language & Logical Reasoning:

Para Completion and inference, Jumbled Paragraph, Verbal Logic, Grammar, Fill in the Blanks, Analogies or Reverse Analogies, Reading Comprehension, Summary Questions, Para Jumble, Logical Completion of Idea, Critical Reasoning, Vocabulary and Arguments.

Decision Making:

Sets, Logical reasoning, Mathematics, Decision Making, Blood Relations, Pie Chart, Line Charts, Venn Diagram, Semi-Quantitative topics, Calendars, Puzzles, Series, Bar Graphs, Statement Conclusions, Coding & Decoding, Numeric Grid, Family Tree, Clocks, Seating Arrangement.

General Knowledge:

Government and Politics, Science, Famous Personalities, History, Geography, Awards and winners, Business, Economy, Current affairs, Important happenings around the World, Politics, Business, Literature.

Essay Writing:

In the examination, candidates have to write an essay on one topic given in the question paper. There is no specific syllabus of essay writing. The topics are generally abstract which candidates can relate with an event of recent significance instead of keeping the content generic.

XAT 2023 Paper Pattern (Revised)

Please be notified that XAT 2023 paper pattern has been revised. The essay writing section of XAT has been done away with. The paper would now have four sections which would be Verbal and Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge. The examination would be conducted in online mode on January 3, 2023.
