IIFT 2023 Registration has been started from 30th Sept 2022. Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) is one of the well-known institutions of India. The university offers admission into MBA (International Business) through IIFT examination. This entrance exam is conducted once in every year. It is a national level entrance test. TWO-YEAR MBA (INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS) - FULL TIME

The cost of application form is Rs. 1650/- (825 for SC/ST/PWD candidates) which includes application screening and entrance test fee.Registration fee:

  • The fee can be paid either through online mode by using a credit card/debit card (Visa or Master).
  • The application fee once paid cannot be refunded.

How to Apply for IIFT

Here, we have given the procedure to apply for IIFT 2019 application form for the convenience of the applying candidates.

  • Navigate the official website (link is given above).
  • On the page of MBA-IB 2019, read the given guidelines carefully.
  • Click on the ‘Apply’ link after reading all the guidelines.
  • Fill the basic details for primary registration and submit it.
  • A unique application number will be sent to the candidate's registered email Id to complete further registration process.
  • Login to the website using the “Candidate Login” link using your application number.
  • Now, fill all the asked details like academic details, contact details and submit it.
  • After providing the details, click on ‘Save & Continue’.
  • Now, select the payment mode and update the payment details.
  • After payment, upload the required scanned images of photograph and signature.
  • Submit the application form and keep the printout of it with you for future use.

Eligibility

  •  Recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years’ duration in any discipline.

  •  Candidates appearing for a qualifying examination can also apply subject to the submission of proof of requisite qualification by the beginning of October of the year of the start of the course.
  •  No age limit.

Mode of Admission

For General/SC/ST/PH/OBC candidates:

  •  On the basis of online test, Essay write-up, Group Discussion and Interview.

  •  The Written Test is organised at Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Visakhapatnam.

  •  Based on marks obtained in the written test, candidates are called for Group Discussion and Interview to be held between the fourth week of January and middle of February at Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai.

For Foreign National/NRI/Children of NRI:
  •  On the basis of General Management Aptitude Test (GMAT)
  •  For MBA 2018-20, GMAT result should not have been declared before 1 January 2016 and should be received by the Institute latest by 31 March 2018. The last date to submit the application fee is 15th February 2018.

Tuition Fee (for 2019 batch):

  •  General/OBC Category : Rs.7,60,000/- p.a.

  •  SC/ST/PH/Category : Rs.3,50,000/- p.a.
  •  Foreign National /NRI/Children of NRI US$ 27,500 p.a.
  •  Other charges (library, computer, alumni): Rs. 50,000/- for the whole course

The pattern of Admission Test

The admission test is a multiple choice objective type written test (in English). Duration of the test is two hours.  It consists of questions covering ENGLISH COMPREHENSION, GENERAL KNOWLEDGE & AWARENESS, LOGICAL REASONING AND QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS.

RESERVATION   

Seats are reserved as per Government of India rules. The reservations are subject to candidates meeting the admission requirement of the Institute under different categories. 

MODE OF ADMISSION 

(i) For General/ Reserved Category candidates

Selection will be on the basis of Written Test, Group Discussion, Writing Skill Assessment and Interview. Written Test will be held on SUNDAY 3rd December 2017 during 10.00 AM – 12.00Noon at Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Visakhapatnam. Based on the marks of Written Test, a limited number of candidates will be invited for the second phase of selection process comprising Group Discussion, Writing Skill Assessment and Interview to be held at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai. IIFT reserves the right to add/delete any centre if required. 

(ii) For Foreign Nationals and NRIs

Seats are reserved for Foreign Nationals, NRIs and the admission is considered on the basis of General Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) score and interview.

IIFT Exam Syllabus

The written admission test to MBA Programme in IIFT consists of multiple choice objective type questions (in English). The 2 hours IIFT December 2023 entrance would comprise the questions covering English Comprehension, General Knowledge & Awareness, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Analysis.

Quantitative Ability

The number of question in this section can be somewhere between 20 to 25. It is expected that in IIFT December 2017, 20 questions will appear. Major topics covered in this section are Probability, Integers, Time, distance, speed/Time & Work, Percentage, Other Arithmetic questions, Algebra, Mensuration, Log theory, Geometry, Permutation combination

English Comprehension

English comprehension is composed of core verbal ability and questions on Reading comprehension passages.

Around 36 questions on English comprehension are expected to appear in IIFT 2017 entrance test on following topics One-word substitution, Fill in the blanks, Jumbled sentences, Analogy, Phrasal explanation, Grammatically correct or incorrect sentences, Figures of speech, Spelling correction, Antonyms, Active-Passive, Reading comprehension  passages

The Verbal Ability part in English Comprehension section carries a marking pattern with 0.75 marks awarded to correct answers in Verbal Ability area. The Reading comprehension part consists of 15 to 16 questions in MCQ format and would carry a credit of 1 mark for each correct answer. 

Logical Reasoning

Logical reasoning section is expected to have 20 to 22 questions based on blood relations, seating arrangements, series, analogy, sets.  IIFT covers almost all the topics in logical reasoning with 1 or 2 questions on each.  Statements, arguments, conclusions are a few favourite topics which require more in-depth study.

In last year exam, IIFT clubbed Logical Reasoning to Data Interpretation section.

Data Interpretation

20 questions are expected in this section. IIFT asks 19-21 DI questions in different data forms like tables and bar diagrams.  The information part is followed by 4-5 questions so it’s worth trying with patience.  A little more practice can be of great help in this section.

DI questions were clubbed to LR section in IIFT 2016. They can be made a part of the quant section.

General Awareness

25-28 questions could be there to test the General Awareness of the aspirants in IIFT Nov 2017 entrance exam. Questions cover conventional as well as current national and international affairs and relevant economic, business topics apart from major policy decisions.

Questions can also be based to test the aspirants’ awareness about the birthday of famous personalities; their work; Constitution of India; fictional characters.

The candidate may attempt any question from any section during the time allotted to attempt the test in the examination.
