All the students from classes 4 to 12 studying in a school recognized by the Indian education board can apply for the Green Olympiad. TERI Green Olympiad is completely based on the environmental awareness and analytical skills of the participants. Before the pandemic, TERI Green Olympiad was conducted only as a written exam for the students. But from 2020, the Green Olympiad will also be conducted in the online mode.
Students can fill their TERI Green Olympiad registration form as an individual participant through the TERI Olympiad official site. Students applying through their respective schools can submit their registration forms to the school coordinators to confirm their participation. Students have to submit their registration form before the due date to make themselves eligible for the exam.

Students have to pay a non-refundable fee of INR 75 to the TERI to register for the exam. Individual students and students who are getting registered through their school have a different process of fee payment.
Students registering via their school have to pay their fee to the teacher-in-charge of respective schools. Students registering as individual participants have to pay their fee directly to the TERI Green Olympiad.
The syllabus for the TERI Green Olympiad remains the same for all the students, but the examination's difficulty level is high for higher secondary classes. The TERI Green Olympiad syllabus is completely based on the environment and logical reasoning ability of the student. It includes air, waste, energy, water, urban landscapes, biodiversity, and sustainable development.
TERI Green Olympiad is held at four levels according to the class of the students.
