NMMS Exam 2018 - National Means Cum Merit Scholarship Exam acronym as NMMS Exam is sponsored by Central Government and is conducted by the local educational authority to award (The amount of scholarship is proposed to be Rs.6000 per annum @Rs.500 per month.) 1,00,000 scholarships (from class IX till class XII for a maximum period of four years) to the gifted or meritorious students whose parental income is not more than Rs.1,50,000 per annum from all sources.
Each State / UT shall have fixed quota of scholarship which are decided on the basis of enrolment of students in Class VII and VIII in the State/UT concerned and population of children of concerned age group of class VII and VIII.
The scheme would provide reservation to different categories of students as per the State / UT norms; as different States / UTs have their own norms of reservation.
However, the total number of scholarships to a particular State/UT may be restricted to the allocation made by the Central Government.
Important: Those State / UTs who are already conducting the examination for nominating the students for the national level (second stage) examination conducted by the NCERT. The same examination shall be used for selection of candidates for the award of Means-cum-Merit Scholarships in the State / UT.
Maharashtra NMMS 2018 – 2019
On the basis of the examination, scholarships will be awarded to those whose parents having income less than Rs. 1, 50,000/- and are appearing for class VIII, having secure 55% marks in VIIth STD. (for reserve candidate 50%) and studying in recognized schools only. Students studying in non-recognized school will not be eligible. Online Application forms for Maharashtra NMMS are available to schools as per the schedule that is be mentioned on the official website of MSCE. SBI Challans will also be made available on website. Only school authority shall be able to fill the online forms and ‘S’ forms. Printout of all online forms, along with attested copies of caste, disability and income certificates, duly signed by student, parent & head master, ‘S’ forms print out signed by Head Master of school and SBI Challan (amount deposited in favour of MSCE) are to be submitted by school to the respective Education Officer/Educational inspectors on or before the last date.

Examination fee : The examination fee per students will be Rs. 100/- and affiliation fee of Rs. 200/- per academic year per institution will be required. (only through school by SBI challan)
Incomplete/wrongly filled in application forms will be rejected & no correspondence will be entertained in connection with it.

NMMS Exam Selection Process
The students must pass both the tests i.e. MAT and SAT with at least 40% marks in each. For the reserved category, this cut off will be 32% marks.
The parental income of the students should not more than Rs. 1.50 lakh per annum from all sources.
At the time of selection for the award of scholarship, the candidate must have scored at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in Class VIII examination. There will be 5% relaxation for SC/ST.
The awardees should satisfy the eligibilities and the conditions mentioned in the scheme.
The students will be selected for awarding scholarship after they appear for the state level selection test for their respective state/UTs. The selection criteria for NMMS 2018 includes –

The students appearing for NMMS selection test will have to score minimum qualifying marks as specified by the exam conducting authority. Students need to obtain cut off marks in both the tests for NMMS scholarship. The cut off marks for NMMS is as under –
