Nitte University was founded in the year 2008 and was established in Mangalore, Karnataka. It is deemed to be university approved by UGC, New Delhi.
Nitte University offers B.Sc, MBBS, BDS, BPT, B.Pharm, B.Tech, B.Arch, BJMC, and Post Basic B.Sc in Nursing program at the UG level. The PG level programs offered by the university are MD, MS, MPH, MCh, M.Pharm, MPT, MSc, and MJMC courses.
The university also runs GNM, Post Basic Diploma in Nursing, Pharm.D, D.Pharm courses. At the doctoral level, candidates have the option of joining Ph.D. course with 6 specializations.Candidates shall apply for admission to UG, PG, and Diploma courses in offline mode. Admission to MBBS and BDS program is given on the basis of NEET UG ranking through Centralized Counselling conducted by KEA. Candidates have admitted to B.Arch through valid score in NATA. Admission to the remaining UG programs is done on the basis of the applicant’s merit in the qualifying examination. Admission to MD and MS courses is done on the basis of NEET PG ranking through the centralized counseling conducted by KEA. Admission to MDS is granted on the basis of valid score in NEET MDS. M.Ch admission is done through valid score in NEET SS conducted by NBE. Students are admitted to other PG programs on the basis of their merit in the qualifying examination. Admission to B.Tech is on the basis of valid scores in NUCAT conducted by the University.
Applicants are given admission to Diploma program based on their marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Admission to Ph.D. is done on the basis of the marks obtained in the written test and interview round conducted by the university.

Nitte University offers 3-year MD and MS programs in various specializations with the collective intake of 98 students, and a 3-year MDS course with the capacity of 49 students.
Candidates who have completed MBBS course with the permanent registration of any State Medical Council are eligible to join MD/ MS program. Similarly, those who have completed BDS Degree and are registered from the State Medical Council are considered eligible to get admission to MDS course.
Admission to MD and MS courses is given on the basis of NEET PG rank through centralized counselling conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). MDS admission is granted on the basis of valid score in NEET MDS.

Nitte University offers M.Ch, MPH, MDS, M.Sc, M.Pharm, MPT, M.Sc and MJMC courses at the PG level.
Candidates who have completed MS in General Surgery are eligible for M.Ch admission. The minimum eligibility requirement for admission to MPH course is a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Paramedical Science, Biomedical Science, Environmental Engineering or Management, in any of these disciplines with minimum 50% marks.
Those who have completed B.Sc or Post Basic B.Sc in Nursing with at least 55% marks are considered eligible to join MSc in Nursing program. Students with BPT Degree with at least 45% marks are eligible to join MPT course. Applicants who have completed B.Pharm course with minimum 55% marks are considered eligible to join the M.Pharm program. For MJMC, candidates must have completed BJMC program with 50% marks.
Admission to M.Ch is based on the rank scored in NEET SS. Admission to the rest of the PG courses is based on the merit in the qualifying examination.
