MUHS PhD Admissions 2024

The MUHS PhD Admission 2024 is expected to start soon for the academic year 2024-25. Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) offers both full-time and part-time Ph.D. programs in 122 specializations across various fields, including Medicine, Ayurveda, Dentistry, Homoeopathy, Allied Health Sciences, and Interdisciplinary areas. The minimum duration of the program is 3 years. To apply, candidates must have a Master’s degree in the relevant field. Admissions are based on the results of an entrance exam (PET) followed by a personal interview.

How to Apply for MUHS PhD Admission:

Online Mode:

Visit the official website of MUHS at @muhs.ac.in.
Navigate to the MUHS Ph.D. PET Application link on the homepage.
Fill out the application form with the required details.
Upload the necessary documents.
Pay the application fee as directed.
Submit the application form and note your application number for future reference.

Offline Mode:

Candidates can download the application form from the MUHS website or collect it from the university office.
Submit the completed form along with self-attested copies of academic documents and a Demand Draft (DD) in favor of "The Registrar, M.U.H.S. Nashik" to the university office.

MUHS offers Ph.D. programs in 122 specializations, including:

Medical: Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anaesthesiology, Anatomy, Cardiology, Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery, Clinical Pharmacology, Dermatology, Diabetology, Endocrinology, General Surgery, Medical Gastroenterology, Neurology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Psychiatry, Radiology, Surgery, and more.
Ayurveda: Agadtantra, Rognidan, Preventive Cardiology, Panchakarma, Yoga, and more.
Dentistry: Public Health Dentistry, Conservative Dentistry, Orthodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontology, Pedodontics, and more.
Homeopathy: Repertory and Case-Taking, Organon and Homoeopathic Philosophy, Homeopathic Psychiatry, Materia Medica, and more.
Allied Health Sciences: Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Audiology, and Speech-Language Pathology.

MUHS Ph.D. Course Duration:

The Ph.D. program at MUHS lasts for 3 years, divided into 6 semesters. This duration may be extended in accordance with university regulations. Full-time Ph.D. scholars may be converted to part-time status under special circumstances with the university's approval.

MUHS Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates interested in the Ph.D. program at MUHS, Nashik must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Candidates should have a postgraduate degree in the relevant Health Sciences field or an allied subject with at least 50% aggregate marks.
Ph.D. applicants holding a Post Graduate Diploma listed in Schedule II of the respective Central Councils or a D.N.B. qualification are eligible only if they have published at least two research papers in National or International Journals.
Candidates with a foreign Post Graduate degree must provide an equivalence certificate from the competent authority confirming it matches an Indian Post Graduate degree.
Teaching candidates must submit a No Objection Certificate from the Head of the Institute when applying.
In exceptional cases, candidates with an undergraduate qualification in Health Sciences and at least 15 years of professional experience, demonstrated competence, may be considered eligible based on the recommendation of the Board of Research Council.

MUHS Ph.D. Admission Criteria

Admission to the Ph.D. program at MUHS is based on the following process:

A Pre Entrance Test (PET), which includes an Optical Mark-up Reader Based Written Examination.
A merit list will be published based on candidates' scores in the MUHS PET.
Shortlisted candidates will undergo a personal interview at the University campus.
After successfully completing the interview, candidates will be assigned a guide/supervisor and a research center based on their merit and preferences, with an official allotment letter issued.

MUHS Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) Exam Pattern

MUHS conducts a Pre-Admission Entrance Test (PET) for admission to its Ph.D. program which is a written objective multiple-choice questions-based exam. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. The exam pattern is given below:
