M.Tech in Cryptology and Security is a two year program offered in the Kolkata center of the Indian Statistical Institute. The course is designed to impart in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge in the area of cryptology and information security. It is designed to provide the basic background in mathematics, statistics and computer science followed by specialized instructions on various theoretical and practical aspects of the field. The students on successful completion of the course, may take up • a professional career in a industry/government organization which specializes in information security. • an academic career to further study and research in theoretical and practical aspects of cryptology, information security and related disciplines.
(i) Master's degree in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics/ Electronic Science/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Information Technology
(ii) B.E./B.Tech. degree or any other qualification considered equivalent (such as AMIE or, DOEACC ‘B’ Level). Stipend ?8000/- per month (Offered at Kolkata).
A candidate with a valid GATE score above a threshold (to be decided by the Selection Committee) in his/her own subject would be directly called for interview.
