MASTER OF TECHNOLOGY – BIOTECHNOLOGY

Master of Technology in Biotechnology is a postgraduate Biotechnology course. It is a field of applied biology that involves the use of living organisms and bioprocesses in engineering, technology, medicine and other fields requiring bio-products.

Biotechnology deals with bioprocesses in engineering, medicine, technology, and other fields that need bio products.  It is done through the use of living organisms. This field of applied biology intends to provide superior courses having strong vocational elements to the candidates pursuing the course.

Job Positions

  1. Research Biochemist- It deals with studying the chemistry of processes that are alive. They are also involved in research methods related to the transfer of characteristics from one organism to another.
  2. Sr. Associate Scientist- This profile needs the candidates to produce perfect assays for examining the engineered T-cell expansion, immune phenotype that will be used to collect samples and process them.
  3. Quality Controller- They ensure the production of precise and reliable data by conducting lab tests, which can be useful for scientific investigations.

Salary

It ranges from 2 lac to 10 lac per annum on an average. (INR)

Eligibility

  1. Candidates who have completed their Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree are eligible for Master of Technology degree course.
  2. Candidates who completed a 5-year program in science or applied sciences resulting in the award of a Master of Science degree are also eligible for Master of Engineering course.
  3. Admission is based on rank obtained in the entrance test conducted for M. Tech and some of the also accepts the merit percentage scored in under-graduate program.
  4. Some Institutes also conduct personal interview and or written test for admission in their Institutes.
  5. Students graduated in the field of Biotechnology/ B. Pharma/ M. Sc. Biosciences with minimum 45%-50% marks are eligible to apply.
  6. Students having valid GATE score are also eligible for admission to this program as will be given priority.
