MASTERS IN PHILOSOPHY

The Master of Philosophy is an advanced postgraduate degree. An MPhil typically includes a taught portion and a significant research portion, during which a thesis project is conducted under supervision.M Phil Social Study is a comprehensive system of ideas about human nature and the nature of the reality we live in. M Phil is a Post-graduate Academic Research Degree Course whose subject study is different disciplines within the Social Study. 

Program Pattern

PhD in Social Study Courses varies from 1-2 academic years depending upon the students learning capability.  The course is of semester pattern, 2 semesters in each year.

Future Scope

  • Researcher- Gather information, analyze, evaluate and communicate to the team members. Developing research report and thesis.
  • Linguist- Interpret, translate documents from one language to another using technologies and software.
  • Counsellors- Provide guidance to the public on various matters, by offering them relevant solutions to the problems.
  • Author- Structure the data in the form of written documents, useful for public to analyze solution to problem and for learning.
  • Professor- Impart knowledge to students about the subject, using different methods of learning.

Salary

It varies from 2 lac to 10 lac on an average (INR), depending upon the field of work.

Eligibility

  1. The basic eligibility for a M Phil program is Bachelors.
  2. The candidate need to qualify for NET, MET, ICSR as such exams under UGC guidelines or on the basis of marks secured in last qualifying exam.
  3. The candidate has to minimum obtain 60% and above in its Institute’s Final Exams.
  4. The mode of admission depends on the preference of respective college/ institute. 
  5. A minimum of 2 years of professional work experience beneficial for admission.
  6. A written test may be conducted to assess the candidate’s knowledge. Those who qualify in the written test will be required to appear for an interview.
