Dairy Technology is a trending technology which has been carried out over the last 50 years in India for the services of dairy products, their handling and processing along with the storage, monitoring and transportation. This course has been designed to meet the growing needs in the fields of livestock, dairy plant maintenance and marketing as well as quality control.
To be eligible in this course the candidate has to be of Science background and a minimum of 50% in the graduate and 12th level but this might also vary from institute to institute. The duration of the course in general is 2 years and is available in both full time and correspondence course.
The main objective of this course is to teach the students the application of science and technology in dairy and related biological systems. Dairy technology is to bring about the entrepreneur skills of the students to propagate knowledge. A major portion of this course revolves around storage, handling, planning, removing of harmful toxins, designing the products and the correct method of the dissipation of the products. It also includes the study of applied science for animal nutrition.
