BACHELOR OF FISHERIES SCIENCE is an undergraduate Fisheries Science course. It is the science that is involved in managing, catching, processing, marketing and conservation of Fish. The duration of Bachelor of Fisheries Sciences course is four years spread over a number of semesters which are mostly eight in numbers. The course can be pursued either as a Full Time Graduate Course or Part Time Graduate Course i.e. through Correspondence or Distance Education depending upon one’s choice. The course is also known as B.Sc. (Fisheries). The course is studies habits and breeding of various species of fish. It involves farming and husbandry of important fishes and aquatic organisms in fresh water, brackish water and any marine environment. The course is very valuable and important for farm and fish communities and provides a lot of career scopes after its completion.

Eligibility:

  1. To pursue a B.Sc. (Fisheries) or B.F.Sc. degree, a candidate needs to be 10+2 pass in science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects.
  2. Age limit is Minimum 17 years and Maximum 20 Years.
  3. The candidate also needs to appear for an all India Level Common Entrance Test conducted by ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research), New Delhi, to get admission in various Central Institute of Fisheries.
