St. Xavier's Admission Test (XIC OET) is organized by St Xavier's College, Mumbai to offer admission to aspirants of Bachelor of Arts (Mass Communication and Journalism (BA MCJ), Bachelor in Mass Media (BMM) and Bachelor in Management Studies (BMS) programs. It is one of the most popular entrance tests for admission into BMS program across the country.

In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, this year, the entrance test will be held in online video administered mode. The online video proctored mode test implies the applicants should take the exam through their PCs or laptops at home. They won't be required to visit the exam centre to take the test; they can take it at their home.

Instructions for filling the Application Form

  1. You can apply for a single entrance test with your registered email id. You can apply for another course but you will need to register on the application site with a second email id.

  2. It is strongly advised to clear your browser cache and history before you begin to fill the form.

  3. Kindly also check your spam mail in case the email does not appear in your inbox.

  4. If you want to Edit your form kindly click on the Edit button do not attempt to go back while filling the form. You will get a chance to edit the form before you make the Payment.

  5. The form is divided into sections culminating in the Upload section. Post this you will be offered Preview of the data you entered and an option to Edit mistakes, if any. You can then proceed to pay the application fee.

  6. For the Upload section you will have to upload the following (Mandatory):

    • Recent Passport size Photograph (Clear, single coloured (preferably light) background) [will be used to identify you during the online proctored test hence make sure it is recent]. Upload size should be less than 500 kb

    • Identify Proof: Any one of the following needs to be uploaded – Driver’s License/PAN Card/Aadhar Card/Voter ID. Please bear in mind that the id uploaded here will be the one you will have to also scan at the start of the entrance exam. It will be verified against your Uploaded ID proof. Upload size should be less than 500 kb

    • Baptism Certificate: Mandatory if you apply under the Christian Minority category you will have to upload your Baptism certificate. Upload size should be less than 500 kb

    • Special category certificate: If you apply under the special category (refer to the specific admission notice for details) you will have to supply proof for the same

  1. Special category applicants: If you wish to select a special category please first select the general category and then you can access the special category and it sub categories if applicable

  2. For Christian minority applicants: You can select Christian minority and if you are a Christian minority Student with disability you can select the same under this category. If you are a Christian minority & special category applicant, you are advised to apply under Christian Minority only. It will serve you better.

  3. From the 19th of July onwards, you will be asked to upload your marksheets, for all courses. Hence the responsibility of uploading marksheets is on the applicant solely. 

  4. You will be held accountable for the data you enter. If incorrect, incomplete or misleading data is entered, your application will not be considered for the Merit list.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • Candidates who have cleared their intermediate from a recognized board are eligible for registering for XIC OET exam.
  • The minimum aggregate percentage required in 10+2 exam should be 60 percent.
  • Candidates must have completed their graduation in a university approved stream (Arts, Commerce, Science, Computers, BMM, BMS, BE, Catering etc.)
  • Aspirants belonging to the minority category should have 55 percent in their intermediate examinations and students belonging to the reserve category should have 50 percent marks.
  • General Category candidates whose birth date falls on or after 1st June 1995 are eligible  for XIC OET.
  • Candidates belonging to the Catholic community and SC/ST category and born on or after 1st June 1994 are eligible to sit for XIC OET 2020.

BMS ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Candidates should have completed their 10+2 from a recognised board.
  • The minimum aggregate perentage in 10+2 exam should be 60%.
  • Candidates who belong to the minority category should have 55 percent in their 10+2 examinations & reserve category students must have 50 percent marks in their 10+2 exam.
  • Candidates belonging to the general category whose birth date falls on or after 1st June 1996 are eligible to appear for the XIC OET.
  • Candidates who belong to the Catholic community and SC/ST category who are born on or after 1st June 1995 are eligible to sit for XIC OET 2020.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR BA JOURNALISM & MASS COMMUNICATION

  • Age of candidates should lie in between 21 to 35 years.
  • Candidates should be graduated from a recognized university.
  • Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply.
