KCET is the state level entrance exam for the candidates seeking admission in government and private institutes of the Karnataka state. It offers various courses in different streams like engineering, architecture, pharmacy, etc. KCET been released now. KCET 2023 (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) is a state level entrance exam. This exam is also called as Karnataka CET (K CET/Kar CET). Karnataka CET is managed by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) under the aegis of Karnataka University. KCET 2023 is the gateway for admission in the field of Architecture, Engineering, Pharmacy, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, etc. Through this exam, candidates will get admission into various institutions/colleges situated in Karnataka state. Application Fees

Candidates can submit the application fee through both (online & offline) modes. Candidates residing outside of India have to submit the fee through DD drawn in favor of Executive Director, Karnataka Examination Authority payable at Bangalore. The demand draft should be sent to KEA address by mentioning the application number. The application fee is given below:

  1. GM, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B candidates of Karnataka origin: RS. 500/-.
  2. SC/ST Category-1 & female of Karnataka candidates only: RS.250/-.
  3. Candidates residing outside the state of Karnataka: RS.750/-.
  4. Candidates residing outside India: RS. 5, 000/-.

CET Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of CET is given below:

  1. Mode of Exam: The exam will be held through offline mode (pen & paper based).

  2. Types of Question: Question paper will be Multiple Choice Type Question.

  3. Number of Questions: Total 60 question will be asked from each section.

  4. Time Duration: The total time duration is 320 minutes for the whole exam. Each section will be given 80 minutes.

  5. Marking Scheme: One mark will be awarded for each correct answer.

  6. Negative Marking: There is no provision for negative marking. No marks will be deducted for incorrect answer.

Preparation Tips

  1. Plan a proper schedule & make a time table such that to give a equal time for each subjects.

  2. Prepare from previous years question paper & unsolved sample papers.

  3. Stay healthy & take a nutritious and balanced diet. Avoid junk & oily foods.

  4. Understand & know the complete exam pattern & syllabus. Concentrate on the basic concept & try to cover the complete syllabus.

  5. Make a note of all the important topics & points.

  6. Balance your strengths & weaknesses & prepare topics and chapters according to this.

Passed 12th/2nd PUC with English as one of the language subject and obtaining 50% aggregate marks in PCB (40% for reserve category candidates)

B.Arch

Passed 12th/2nd PUC with English as one of the Languages and physics, chemistry & mathematics subjects obtaining 50% aggregate marks in all subjects (45% for reserve category candidates)

B.Tech/BE

Passed 12th/2nd PUC with English as one of the language subject and obtaining 45% aggregate marks in Physics & Mathematics along with Chemistry/Bio-technology/Biology/Electronic/Computer (40% for reserve category candidates)

B.V. Sc. & A.H.

Passed 12th/2nd PUC with obtaining 50% aggregate marks in PCB & English (40% for reserve category candidates)

B.Pharma

Passed in 2nd PUC/12th with PCB or PCM and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects (40% for reserve category candidates)
OR
Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy from an institution approved by PCI and secured minimum of 45% marks (40% for category candidates)

Physical World and Measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy & Power, Motion of System of Particles & Rigid Body, Properties of Bulk Matter, Gravitation, Thermodynamics, Behavior of Perfect Gas & Kinetic Theory and Oscillations & Waves.

Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current & Magnetism, Electromagnetic induction & Alternating Currents, Optics, Dual Nature of Matter & Radiation, Electromagnetic waves, Atoms & Nuclei, Electronic Devices and Communication systems.

 

Chemistry:

Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry, Structure of Atom, Chemical Bonding & Molecular Structure, States of Matter: Gases & Liquids, Chemical Thermodynamics, Classification of Elements & Periodicity in Properties, Equilibrium, Redox Reactions, Hydrogen, S-Block Elements, Hydrocarbons, Some p-Block Elements, Organic Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry.
