The National Institute of Design conducts NID Design Aptitude Test (NID DAT) for the aspirants seeking B.Des and M.Des admission at NID campuses and other result sharing institutes. NID DAT prelims exam will be conducted on January 2 in pen and paper mode. Aspirants can now start filling the NID DAT 2023 application form online which is available on the official website. The last date to fill the NID DAT application form 2023 with regular fee is November 30, 2021. Aspirants are advised to check the NID DAT eligibility criteria before filling the application form. Aspirants can fill the application form of NID DAT 2023 by paying the late fee from December 1 to 5, 2021.
Post NID DAT registration, the window to edit the NID DAT 2023 application form will be opened on the official website from December 6 to 13, 2021. Applicants can review and edit the details (if required) filled in the application form while registering. However, applicants are not allowed to change their programme applied in, candidate's name, date of birth, registered mobile number & registered email ID in the window to edit the application form. Applicants have to pay the applicable additional application form fees if they change their applied category during the “Window to Edit” period. In the case of any category change, the excess fee paid during the registration will not be refunded.
The Institute will release the NID DAT 2023 admit card on December 23, 2021 on the official website admissions.nid.edu. Aspirants can download the NID DAT admit card 2023 online by providing the required login details. Candidates must carry the NID DAT admit card along with a valid identity card to the test centres for verification purpose. NID DAT prelims exam is schedule to held on January 2 in 24 national cities. NID DAT result will be announce in February/March on the official website. NID will conduct the NID DAT counselling to offer admission to the shortlisted candidates.
NID Design Aptitude Test commonly known as NID DAT is a two-tier design entrance test that consists of prelims exam and mains exam. The entrance test is conducted every year at the national level to shortlist students for B.Des and M.Des admission offered by NIDs campuses. NID DAT is conducted to assess candidates' knowledge, skill and behavioural abilities. NID admission is wholly based on candidates performance in NID DAT.
The 4-years BDes programmes are offered at NID Ahmedabad, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Assam. Whereas 2-years MDes programmes are offered at NID Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Bengaluru.

As per eligibility criteria of NID DAT 2023, candidates have to meet the age limit, educational qualification and the qualifying exam that are accepted by NID. Those candidates who meet the eligibility criteria, only they should apply for the entrance exam. The eligibility criteria of NID has been explained below in the table.
B.Des - Candidates should clear Class 12 from any stream ( Science , Humanities , Commerce ) from a recognised board such as CBSE , IB, ICSE or their equivalent. Candidates appearing for Class 12 exams in 2023 are also eligible to apply.
M.Des - Candidates should complete a bachelor’s degree course from a recognised college/university. Candidates should not be more than 30 years of age as on June 30, 2023.

Aspirants up to 20 years of age on or before June 30, 2002, are eligible to apply. Candidates who belong to reserved categories, they get age relaxation of three years. PwD category candidates who born on or after July 1, 1997 are eligible to apply for admission
