BACHELOR OF INTERIOR DESIGN

Interior designers are people who work in close proximity to architects. They help in planning out the layout which can be a house, office or any other commercial complex in such a manner that the area is utilized in the best possible manner. Interior designers help firms/homeowners in planning out the layout, structure, color schemes, furnishings and decorations of their establishments. The focus of the program is to generate awareness on the functional qualities of design.

Bachelor of Interior Design course is also known by other names such as – BID, B. Des. Interior Design, etc. Bachelor of Interior Design is same as of B. Sc. (Interior Design), so do verify which one you are pursuing.

Program Pattern

  • It is a job oriented undergraduate level Bachelor’s Degree course.
  • The duration of the course lies from 3 to 5 years depending on the Institute, the program is sub-divided into semesters.

Eligibility

  1. Candidates who have completed their Class 12 from a recognized board.
  2. Student should have studied Mathematics and Physics as an additional subject in their Class 12 to apply for admissions in an interior designing course.
  3. A minimum aggregate marks of 50% for general and 45% for ST/SC candidates at the level of Higher Secondary Examination (classes 10th & 12th).
  4. Aptitude for, and interest in art and creativity.
