    Impact on Admissions Process

The declaration of MHT-CET 2025 PCM Group results, especially with 22 candidates scoring a perfect 100 percentile, will significantly influence the upcoming admission process for engineering and pharmacy courses in Maharashtra.

  • Increased Competition for Top Colleges: The high number of 100 percentile scorers will intensify competition for coveted seats in the most sought-after engineering colleges and branches across the state. These candidates will likely secure admissions in their preferred institutions, potentially pushing down the cut-off percentiles for other highly ranked applicants.
  • Detailed Merit List Analysis: Admission authorities will likely need to employ more granular tie-breaking rules and consider other factors beyond just the percentile for candidates with very high scores to differentiate between them. This could involve looking at specific subject scores, HSC (12th standard) examination marks, or even considering the examination shift difficulty if normalized scores are not fully discriminatory.
  • Impact on Lower Percentiles: While the top tier will see fierce competition, the overall high performance might subtly shift the percentile requirements for admissions to mid-tier and even some lower-tier colleges. Candidates with slightly lower but still competitive percentiles will need to strategically choose their preferences during the CAP (Centralized Admission Process) rounds.
  • Category-wise Cut-offs: The category-wise toppers, particularly those achieving 100 percentile in reserved categories like OBC and SEBC, highlight strong competition within these groups as well. This means that even within reserved categories, the cut-offs for premier institutes will remain very high.
  • Strategic Counselling: Students and parents will need to approach the admission counseling process with a well-researched strategy, considering their percentile, category, and preferred college/course combinations to maximize their chances of securing admission. Mock allotment rounds and past year's cut-off data will become crucial tools for decision-making.
  • MHT CET Result 2025: marks vs percentile

Based on the MHT CET results 2025 today, candidates can check the percentile and their corresponding marks (based on students' score responses ) -

    Marks Percentile
    126 marks 98.75
    78 marks 87
    65 marks 53
    54 marks 32
    72 marks 68
    61 marks 56
    66+ marks 73.26
    70 marks 80

What will be the Next Process?

Following the declaration of MHT-CET 2025 results, the next crucial phase is the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for admissions to undergraduate professional courses in engineering, technology, and pharmacy. While specific dates will be announced by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, the general process typically involves the following steps:

  1. Registration for CAP: Candidates will need to register online for the CAP rounds on the official MHT-CET admission portal. This involves filling personal details, academic qualifications, and MHT-CET scores.
  2. Document Verification: All registered candidates will be required to undergo document verification at designated Facilitation Centers (FCs). This is a critical step to ensure eligibility and confirm category claims.
  3. Option Form Filling (Preference Entry): This is perhaps the most strategic part of the process. Candidates will fill an online option form, listing their preferred colleges and courses in order of priority. This form is crucial as seat allotment is done based on these preferences, merit, and category.
  4. Provisional Merit List: A provisional merit list will be published, allowing candidates to check their rank and raise any grievances or discrepancies.
  5. Final Merit List: After addressing grievances, the final merit list will be released.
  6. CAP Rounds (Allotment Rounds): Multiple rounds of seat allotment will be conducted. In each round, seats are allotted based on merit, preferences, and availability.
    • Round 1: Candidates who are allotted a seat in their first preference college/course often have to either accept the seat and freeze it (meaning they are satisfied and don't want to participate in further rounds) or decline. For other allotments, candidates can choose to 'freeze' or 'float' (accept the allotted seat but wish to participate in subsequent rounds for a better option).
    • Subsequent Rounds: Further rounds are conducted to fill vacant seats. Candidates who 'float' in previous rounds, or those who didn't get an allotment, can participate.
  7. Reporting to Allotted Institute: Candidates who accept an allotted seat in any round must report to the respective institute within the stipulated time frame to confirm their admission by paying the fees and submitting original documents.
  8. Spot Rounds/Institute Level Admissions: If seats remain vacant after the CAP rounds, some institutes might conduct spot rounds or invite applications for institute-level admissions.
