Engineering colleges, which have over 62,000 vacant seats this year, will now get a chance to fill them up till end of this month. The SC has extended the deadline for admissions to all undergraduate technical courses, including engineering, pharmacy, architecture and hotel management, in the state up to August 31. The earlier deadline was August 15.
The state sought an extension so that students from flood-affected areas such as Sangli, Kolhapur, Satara and Konkan, who could not report to colleges during admission time, could benefit, said a statement issued by higher and technically education minister Vinod Tawde.
Admissions will be done at institute-level and students can approach individual colleges with documents. A circular released by the state’s CET cell said thatstudents who cleared their supplementary exams and are now eligible for admissions to undergraduate technical courses can apply too.
