Maharashtra State CET Cell has postponed the MHT CET 2020 exam and will notify new dates later.
The exams were earlier slated to be held from July 4, 2020, to August 5, 2020.
"Due to the global epidemic of coronavirus, MHT-CET 2020 has been postponed till further orders from the State Common Entrance Examination Cell," says the postponement notice.

Uday Samant "informed that the entrance examinations for various subjects of the Department of Higher Education and Technical Education, which are being conducted on behalf of the State Common Entrance Examination Cell, have been postponed."
There was a constant demand from students and parents to postpone the entrance exam. The decision has been taken in view of the health of the students and the dates of all these examinations will be announced soon.
Samant said that entrance examination in various subjects of the Department of Higher Education and Technical Education are conducted every year through the State Common Entrance Examination Cell (CET-Cell). At present, all these examinations have been postponed in view of the increasing prevalence of Covid-19 in the entire country and in Maharashtra.

Higher and Technical Education minister tweeted that the exams have been postponed owing to the ongoing pandemic and with a view on the health risk to students. The government has decentralised the conduct of examinations which will be held at the taluka level instead of district level.
CET conducts exams for various professional courses in the state such as law, management, architecture, technical, pharmacy and so on. Over lakh of students are enrolled in professional courses in the state.
