All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) recognised Nashik based K K Wagh Polytechnic College as Platinum Institute for the third time. The award is considered to be the highest in the field of polytechnic degree colleges.
Out of 423 polytechnic institutes in Maharashtra, K K Wagh was selected the best on the basis of higher technical education and its contribution in the field. The college had also received the award in 2016 and 2017.
Total 3842 institutes were surveyed among AICTE's 9832 institutes across the country. Finally, 714 institutes were selected among which K K Wagh won the criteria.
In this selection process, a committee of officials of the Defense Department of the Government of India, ISRO, Microsoft, vice chancellor of certain universities, National Technology Institute and CII officials are appointed.
