Maharashtra SSC Exams 2021 for Class 10 students have been cancelled. Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad today confirmed the news. The decision was taken by the state government amid the worsening situation of the pandemic in the state. Maharashtra HSC Board Exams 2021, however, stand postponed and new dates would be announced accordingly in due course of time.
Speaking on the health and safety of the students, Varsha Gaikwad wrote, "Given the worsening situation of the #Covid-19 pandemic, the Maharashtra government has now decided to CANCEL the state board exams for class 10th. Health & safety of students & teachers are our topmost priority." Check the tweet below.
The news is sure to bring relief to lakhs of students and their families. The criteria on how students would be promoted, however, has not been declared as yet. it is expected that much like CBSE, the students may be promoted en masse on the basis of their internal evaluation. More details are expected soon.
