The Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi has issued the dates for admission to elementary classes for Nursery, KG, and Class 1 during the academic year 2024-25 in private schools in Delhi. Students seeking admission to nursery, KG, and Class 1 in private schools will begin on November 23.
According to the schedule, the admission process will start on November 23 and the last date to apply for admission will be December 15. The first admission list will be issued on January 12, 2024. In accordance with the circular, parents are permitted to be charged only a registration fee of Rs 25 for admissions.
Private schools allocate 25 percent of their seats for economically weaker sections (EWS), disadvantaged group (DG) students, and children with disabilities. A distinct list will be released for the admission of candidates from these categories.
According to the notification, for enrollment in pre-school (nursery), pre-primary (KG), and Class-1, the minimum age requirement is three years, four years, and five years, respectively, as of March 31. The notification designates pre-school, pre-primary, and Class 1 as entry-level classes and specifies that the maximum age limit for admission should be under four years for pre-school, under five years for pre-primary, and under six years for Class 1.
Following the initial publication of the first admission list, schools are authorised to entertain parental inquiries from January 13 to January 22, as per the notification. The notification suggests that parents may reach out to the school's head or principal if they intend to seek age relaxation, and this can be accomplished through a manual application process.
