'One Nation One Subscription' Digital Library Launched
ONE LIBRARY. ALL OF INDIA.
The Government of India has inaugurated the 'One Nation One Subscription' (ONOS) initiative, creating a comprehensive digital library that provides institutional access to over 13,000 international academic journals. This project, hosted by the Information and Library Network Centre (INFLIBNET). aims to democratize access to scholarly resources across the country.
Key Features of ONOS:
1. Universal Access: The initiative ensures
that universities, colleges, and research institutions across India can access a vast collection of academic journals without individual subscriptions.
2. Cost-Effective Solution: By negotiating
a nationwide subscription, the government eliminates the financial burden on individual institutions, making high-quality research more accessible.
3. Support for Research and Innovation:
With seamless access to global research materials, students and researchers can enhance their work, fostering a stronger academic and scientific community.
4. Hosted by INFLIBNET: The digital.
library will be managed by the Information and Library Network Centre, ensuring a structured and efficient distribution of resources.
