MCC will soon be conducting the NEET 2020 counselling for filling the 15% All India seats of the UG medical colleges across the nation.
Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is accepting scanned documents online from NEET 2020 qualifying candidates who wish to change their nationality from Indian to NRI. The last date to take advantage of this opportunity is October 23, 2020. This is opportunity is given after the Supreme Court’s order. The candidates who are claiming to be NRI must submit their documents on or before 10 AM on October 23, 2020.
CC is the body that will soon be conducting the NEET 2020 counselling for filling the 15% All India seats of the UG medical colleges across the nation. For NEET 2020 counselling the candidates need to produce their nationality proof. The nationality is recorded in the NEET application form itself. However, MCC is allowing the NEET qualified candidates to change their nationality one last time before they go ahead with the counselling process.
To submit the scanned documents candidates are required to send an email to nri.adgmemcc1@gmail.com. Through the email the candidates have to scan and send the following documents:
1. Documents claiming that the sponsorer is NRI (Passport, Visa of the sponsorer).
2. Relationship of the NRI with the candidate.
3. Affidavit from the sponsorer that they shall bear the entire course fee of the candidate duly notarised.
4. Embassy certificate of the sponsorer.
5. NEET scorecard of the candidate.
MCC notice for candidates who wish to convert their nationality from Indian to NRI
MCC is expected to release the schedule for the NEET 2020 counselling process soon. The official portal for online counselling is mcc.nic.in. The counselling process will include registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting at the allotted institute to complete admission formalities.
On the other hand, the state counselling process via NEET scores for the rest of the 85% medical seats is held by the authorities of the respective states. The candidates have to follow the respective process and schedule made available by them.
From this year, AIIMS and JIPMER will also admit students based on NEET scores only.
The total number of UG medical seats to be offered this year for admission via NEET score is 82926 in 541 colleges. The highest number of colleges and seats is in Karnataka, which is 60 and 9495 respectively.
NEET 2020 was held on September 13 and the results were declared on October 16, 2020. For admission against the 15% all India quota seats, the cutoff marks of NEET 2020 are 147 marks, for UR-PH it is 129 marks and for the ST / ST-PH / SC / SC-PH / OBC / OBC-PH is 113 marks.
The seats of MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, BHMS courses across the nation will be filled via NEET scores. Additionally the state of Maharashtra will be offering seats in bachelor of Physiotherapy (B. PTh.), Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (B. OTh.)., Bachelor of Audiology, Speech and Language Pathology (BASLP), Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics (BP & O) and B.Sc. Nursing courses too based on NEET 2020 scores.
