JEE Main Counselling & Seat Allotment 2020 - Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is the conducting body of JEE Main 2020 counselling & seat allotment process. Registrations for counselling and seat allotment of JEE Main 2020 has started on October 15. Candidates will have to register on the official website of JoSAA to participate in the JEE Main Counselling and Seat Allotment 2020. Initially, JoSAA will conduct two mock rounds followed by six rounds of counselling. There mock rounds of JEE Main will help students to know the seats that they will be allotted based on their choices filling. CSAB Revised Eligibility Criteria for Admission in NITs and CFTIs due to COVID-19
Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has revised its eligibility criteria for admission in NITs and CFTIs due to COVID-19 pandemic. As per the revised criteria, candidates JEE Main qualified candidates only need to obtain a passing certificate for admission in CSAB participating institutes. Procedure of JEE Main Counselling & Seat Allotment 2020
The following are the steps to be followed by the candidates while participating in the counselling and seat allotment of JEE Main 2020.
Step-1: Registration - First the candidates will have to register in the JoSAA web portal to participate in the JEE Main 2020 counselling and seat allotment process.
Step-2: Choice Filling & Locking - They will have to lock their college preferences and B.Tech courses. The seats will be allocated to the candidates on the basis of choices filled.
Step-3: Seat Allotment Process - Students will be allocated seats based on the availability of seats, preference & merit of the candidates. However, the mock allotment will be conducted by the exam authorities in two rounds before the actual seat allotment process.
Step-4: Fee Payment & Seat Acceptance - After the completion of the seat allotment process, they will have to select any one of the following options.
Float: If a candidate wishes to keep the allotted seat and also want to upgrade their seat, they can choose this option.
Freeze: In case, candidates are satisfied with their allocated seats and do not want to participate in further rounds of counselling, they can select this option.
Slide: If candidates wish to accept the allotted seat and want to upgrade the programme in the same institute, they can select this option.
Withdraw: If any candidates have already accepted the seat allotted, they may withdraw the seat by reporting at the allotted institute before the final round of seat allotment.

Step-5: Documents/Certificate Verification - After successful fee payment, candidates will have to verify their documents at the nearest help centres.

JoSAA seat allotment letter (Provisional)
Three passport size photographs (the same as uploaded during registration)
Photo identity card
Proof of fee payment (seat acceptance)
Proof of Date of birth
JEE Main 2020 Admit Card

Step-6: Final reporting at the allocated Institution - Finally, the candidates will have to report at the allotted institute and pay the balance fees in the institute, confirm the admission after the verification process is completed.
JEE Main 2020 Special Round Counselling - The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will conduct a special round counselling after the conclusion of JoSAA 2020 seat allotment process for admission to vacant seats in IIITs, NITs and GFTIs. Candidates who will secure a valid JEE Main score are eligible for the seat allotment process. CSAB 2020 registration for special round counselling will be done in online mode.
