CBSE Practical Exams 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued directions to schools on how to complete practical exams in 2024 on time. The instructions included scheduling, examiner, and mark guidelines, among other things. The CBSE practical examinations 2024 will begin in the first week of January 2024.
The board stated that schools must verify that they have acquired an adequate amount of books before the start of practical tests. Schools have been urged to provide students and parents with information about the format, timetable, and any special requirements for the practicals.
The board urged schools to identify disabled children or those with special needs and to provide accommodations for such pupils so that they can participate in practicals comfortably. Students are only required to appear in the practical tests as scheduled.
Schools have been instructed to contact external examiners to administer exams on time and on the scheduled date and time. According to CBSE, schools are not permitted to make alternative arrangements for examiners at their level, and the exams will be administered solely by the external invigilator appointed by the board.
In terms of grades, the central board requested that schools upload their practical and internal grades daily. It requested that school administrators double-check the maximum marks allotted to internal assessments before awarding and uploading the grades.
Furthermore, CBSE stated that it would not consider extending the exam dates and cautioned schools that "if it is observed that the board's directions have not been followed by the schools, the board reserves the right to cancel the practical examination."

“The annual practical examinations/ internal assessment/ projects for Class 10, and 12 for the session 2023-24 are scheduled to start with effect from the first week of January 2024. Therefore, to ensure its timely completion, all the stakeholders are requested to do the following,” said CBSE in an official notice.
The board requested that schools ensure that the necessary equipment and supplies for practical assessments are available in their laboratories. “Reaffirm that the laboratories or facilities are adequately set up for students to perform their experiments,” it stated.
“While uploading the marks, the school, the internal examiner and the external examiner (as the case may be) shall ensure that the correct marks are uploaded as no correction in the marks will be allowed once marks are uploaded,” the board added.
“No change in marks is allowed after finalisation and completion of the process, so proper attention of both the examiners is required to ensure the correctness of the uploaded marks,” CBSE repeated.
