A further reform to the educational system is announced by Karnataka. The state administration has announced the cancellation of the SSLC and PUC Supplemental Examinations. Students will now take three annual tests, under the new exam schedule. To lessen the pressure associated with exams, this alteration has been made.
From the current academic year 2023–2024, the supply examinations will no longer be administered, according to the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB).
One of the key advantages of the new exam system is that students can preserve their best scores from all three assessments.
According to the current examination structure, one annual examination and one supplemental examination were held. To improve the chances for pupils, the board changed the examination arrangement.
These three yearly tests will be administered by the Board while taking into account the detailed instructions that have been given by the government. KSEAB will create the standards for the new system based on consistency in content and level of difficulty. The rules for this will be made public soon.
Students will have the option of choosing the topic with the highest score out of the marks they received in these three attempts.
According to the rules, students who enrol in their next academic course after the first month has passed must be provided a bridge course, either at PUC or at a college that awards degrees.
