CSIR UGC NET December 2024 results out: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially declared the results for the Joint CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) December 2024 session. Candidates who appeared for the examination can now access their scorecards on the official website, csirnet.nta.ac.in, using their application number and date of birth.
Conducted for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to Ph.D. programmes, the CSIR UGC NET December 2024 was held across three days in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The exam covered five major subjects and was organised at 326 centres in 164 cities across India.
Massive participation in five key subjects
Out of the 2,38,451 candidates who registered for the CSIR UGC NET December 2024, a total of 1,74,785 candidates appeared for the examination. The subject-wise and shift-wise attendance was significant, particularly in the chemical and life sciences disciplines.

On February 28, Shift 1 recorded 30,562 candidates for mathematical sciences and 5,470 for earth science. The second shift on the same day witnessed the highest attendance, with 39,452 candidates appearing for chemical sciences out of 52,937 registered. Life sciences was conducted in two shifts on March 1, where Shift 1 saw 37,522 candidates and Shift 2 had 34,487 candidates. Physical science was conducted on March 2 in Shift 1, with 27,202 candidates taking the test.
Result based on verified final answer keys
Following the exam, the NTA released the provisional answer keys, question papers, and recorded responses between March 11 and March 14, 2025. Candidates were allowed to challenge the provisional answers, which were reviewed by subject experts. Based on this evaluation, the final answer keys were prepared and used to process the results.
Scorecard available online only
The NTA has clarified that the scorecards will not be sent by post or email. Candidates must download and print their scorecards directly from the official portal. Possession of a scorecard alone does not guarantee selection; eligibility criteria and document verification will be conducted as per the Information Bulletin norms.
Next steps and issuance of certificates
While the cut-off scores are expected to be released soon on the official website, the NTA has stated that its responsibility is limited to conducting the test and announcing the results. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) will handle further processing, including the issuance of eligibility certificates to qualified candidates.
