All the applicants who had positively enrolled for JEE Advanced 2020 but were incapable to appear for the examination will be granted a chance to re-emerge in 2021.
The decision was taken by the Joint Admission Board (JAB) in a backup meeting, which was on 13th October 2020 held online. Applicants will not have to re-qualify JEE Main 2021. They will be permitted to straight appear in the JEE Advanced 2021.
On September 27 IIT Delhi conducted JEE Advanced and announced the results of the test on October 5. But few students missed the test even though they had registered for it, due to the ongoing pandemic.
Foremost, the JAB had considered a reduction of its entitlement criteria for applicants who were incapable to give JEE Advanced 2020 due to being COVID-19 positive. And decided to permit an extra attempt to such applicants. The JAB later debated the various options for applicants who were prohibited from appearing in the examination due to boundaries executed due to COVID-19. Afterward, to lecture the worries of the affected applicants while avoiding prejudice to other applicants. The JAB has decided to allow all the applicants who had successfully registered to appear in JEE Advanced 2020 but were absent in the exam, to appear in JEE Advanced 2021 as a former measure.
An equal prospect for all applicants
All the applicants will not have to appear in JEE Main 2021. They will be directly allowed to appear in JEE Advanced 2021 on the basis based on their successful registration this year. This reduction of suitability criteria will be in addition to comparable relaxation of the age bar.
