Tamil Nadu NMMS registration 2024: The Directorate of Government Examinations, Tamil Nadu has decided to extend the deadline for applications to the Tamil Nadu National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMS) to December 27. Candidates can apply for the Tamil Nadu NMMS 2023-24 on the official website, dge.tn.gov.in.
The scholarship exam is held for students in Class 8 who attend government or government-aided institutions in Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu NMMS 2024 examination is set for February 3, 2024. Students who pass the exam will be awarded a Rs 12,000 scholarship per year.
Students who wish to take the NMMS must be enrolled in a state government, government-aided, or local body school. To be eligible, the student's household income must be less than Rs 3,50,000.
Tamil Nadu NMMS registration 2024: Exam pattern
The Tamil Nadu NMMS 2024 exam paper will be based on the Class 7 and 8 syllabus. The NMMS 2023-24 will consist of two exams: a mental ability test (MAT) and a scholastic abilities test (SAT).
Each exam will consist of 90 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Each paper is 90 minutes in length. The mental ability test will assess students' nonverbal and verbal meta-cognitive abilities, such as reasoning and critical thinking. The SAT, on the other hand, will assess candidates' understanding of science, social studies, and mathematics.
The official notice read, “The final list of students' verified at all concerned levels on National Scholarship Portal, will be considered for sanction of funds. The scholarships for those students will be discontinued if they would have not been able to renew their application on NSP within stipulated time period.”
