NEET-UG Counselling 2024: The counselling for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) will start from August 14, according to the notice issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). This announcement comes as a relief for the aspiring medical students who have already cleared the NEET-UG 2024 exam. The registration for the counselling process is likely to begin in the first week of August 2024, as per the statement made by Dr B Srinivas, the Secretary of the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The counselling process will be conducted for the allotment of approximately 1.10 lakh MBBS seats across 710 medical colleges in the country. Additionally, the counselling will also cover 21,000 BDS seats, as well as seats in Ayush and nursing institutions. It is important to note that the MCC will be responsible for conducting the counselling for the 15 per cent all-India Quota seats, 100 per cent seats of all AIIMS, JIPMER Pondicherry, all central university seats, and 100 per cent deemed university seats. This is expected to streamline the admission process and provide a fair chance to all eligible candidates.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the final results of the NEET-UG 2024 exam on Friday, after the Supreme Court disposed of a bunch of petitions, including those alleging irregularities in the conduct of the exam. This paves the way for the commencement of the counselling process, and the candidates are advised to closely monitor the MCC website for the latest updates and notices.
