The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has announced the launch of India’s first Advanced Certification in AI Engineering and AIOps, in collaboration with Futurense. The nine-month programme is scheduled to begin in August 2025 and is designed to train working professionals in deploying AI systems at scale, particularly in cloud-native and Agentic AI environments.
The certification, provided by IIT Roorkee aims to address challenges in operationalising AI solutions, especially the low conversion rate of GenAI pilots into production-level systems. The programme provides training in designing, fine-tuning, and deploying large language models (LLMs) across major cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Participants will develop full-stack AI capabilities with a focus on orchestration, MLOps, and observability within enterprise systems.
Coursework details
The curriculum has been designed to bridge the gap between AI development and deployment, integrating AI model design with DevOps principles and secure infrastructure. It includes modules on LLM development and deployment, AIOps, agent-based system design, vector databases, and ethical frameworks for AI compliance.
Participants will use tools such as LangChain, Hugging Face, AutoGen, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Docker, Kubernetes, and MLflow. Learning is delivered through weekend live online sessions, supplemented with capstone projects involving real-world applications such as multi-agent workflows and GenAI integrations.
Who is eligible to take the course?
The programme is open to professionals with a bachelor’s degree in any STEM discipline, with at least 50% marks. It is particularly suited for AI engineers, MLOps professionals, DevOps specialists, cloud developers, data scientists transitioning to GenAI roles, and technology professionals seeking cross-functional expertise. While working professionals with at least one year of experience are preferred, fresh graduates with relevant certifications may also apply. All applicants are required to clear a pre-screening test.
How much will the course cost?
Applications for the programme open in June 2025. The course will commence in August 2025 and run for a duration of nine months. The total programme fee is Rs1.25 lakh plus applicable GST charges. How will the sessions be conducted?
The certification is delivered in a hybrid format, combining live online weekend sessions with an optional three-day campus immersion at IIT Roorkee. This hands-on component is designed to enable direct interaction with faculty, industry mentors, and peers. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certification from IIT Roorkee.
