Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the registration deadline for its July 2025 admissions to Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes until August 31. Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the official portal at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. To complete the registration, applicants must provide details, including their username, full name, email address, password, and mobile number.
Additionally, candidates are required to upload scanned documents such as a passport-size photograph (maximum 100 KB in JPG format), a signature image (maximum 100 KB in JPG format), and other relevant documents (each up to 200 KB in JPG or PDF format) as per the specified guidelines.
IGNOU registration 2025: How to apply
Step 1: Visit the official website: ignou.samarth.edu.in/index.php/site/login.
Step 2: Enter your enrollment number and password.
Step 3: The dashboard of the candidate will open. It will have an option for registration.
Step 4: Select the link and select courses, and complete the payment.
Step 5: Download the application for future reference.
In case the payment is made twice for the same application, one of the payments will be refunded to the account. In case candidates use third-party services – cybercafé or some other outlet, for submission of the registration form, it must be ensured that the courses have been correctly chosen and the payment of the programme fee has been made successfully.
Meanwhile, India’s number one open university (as per NIRF Rankings 2024) has seen an increase in overall registration from 6.73 lakh in 2018-19 to 7.53 lakh in academic session 2023-2024. In these six years, the varsity has added many programmes at all levels – certificate, diploma, Bachelor, Master and PhD.
