CAT 2024: The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) will administer the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 tomorrow, November 24. The exam will take place in three shifts: 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Applicants taking the CAT 2024 exam must bring a printed copy of their admit card and a valid government-issued photo ID, such as an Aadhaar, PAN card, voter ID, passport, or driver's license, for verification. Aspirants are recommended to arrive 1 hour before the start of the exam. Aspirants must carry a simple ballpoint pen, as rough papers will be offered in the examination hall.
The CAT 2024 admit card link remains valid at iimcat.ac.in. Aspirants need their registration ID and password to download the CAT 2024 admission card.
CAT 2024: Exam Pattern
The CAT 2024 exam would have three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Aptitude. The paper will consist of 66 questions. According to the marking method, applicants will receive 3 points for each correct answer, while 1 point will be subtracted for each erroneous response. However, no negative grading will be applied to unanswered questions.
CAT 2024: Exam Day Guidelines
Aspirants can review the CAT 2024 exam day instructions below.
- Make sure your current passport-sized, colourful photograph is firmly fastened to the admit card.
- Bring your CAT 2024 admission card and a valid original photo ID to the test centre. Passports, driver's licenses, voter IDs, PAN cards, and Aadhar cards are all acceptable forms of identity.
- Applicants who arrive late at the exam centre will be denied access once the gates are locked, regardless of the cause.
- Cell phones, calculators, watch calculators, alarm clocks, digital watches with built-in calculators, memory cards, and other electronic or smart gadgets are all prohibited.
- Applicants are obliged to remain sitting throughout the exam. Re-entering the test hall after submitting the test is not authorized.
- Any attempt at impersonation or malpractice detected at any level will result in the applicant's disqualification and possible legal action.
