JEE Advanced 2025: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur will conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025. The JEE Advanced 2025 qualifying criteria for Indian and overseas nationals are now available on the institute's official website, jeeadv.ac.in. In a substantial overhaul, the number of attempts doubled to three from twice previously.
IITK will shortly publish the JEE Advanced 2025 information bulletin on the JEE Advanced 2025 official website. The bulletin will include the exam date, registration process, application cost, exam pattern, syllabus, marking scheme, and other details.
Those who pass JEE Main 2025 can participate in JEE Advanced 2025. The exam will be administered for admission to the IITs.
JEE Advanced 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Everything except the JEE Advanced attempt limit stays unchanged in JEE Advanced eligibility 2025. Applicants must meet all of the following criteria.
Performance in JEE Main 2025:
Applicants must be among the top 2,50,000 successful applicants (across all categories) in JEE Main 2025 exam 1 for BE and BTech. The category-wise distribution of the top 2.5 lakh applicants in JEE Main 2025 is as follows:
Age limit: Applicants should be born on or after October 1, 2000. SC, ST, and PwD applicants are granted a five-year relaxation. Thus, the applicants must have been born on or after October 1, 1995.
Number of attempts: An applicant may take JEE Advanced 2025 up to three times in three consecutive years.
Appearance in class 12:
- An applicant must have taken the Class 12 (or equivalent) test for the first time in either 2023, 2024, or 2025, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as required subjects.
- Applicants who took the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2022 or earlier are ineligible to participate in JEE Advanced 2025, regardless of the combination or number of courses attempted/offered.
- If the corresponding Class 12 (or equivalent) board declares the results for the academic year 2021-22 on or after September 21, 2022, applicants from that board are also qualified to compete in JEE Advanced 2025, assuming they meet all other eligibility requirements.
Admission at IITs previously:
- An applicant should not have been admitted to an IIT through any academic programme indicated in the JoSAA Business Rules 2024 or earlier, regardless of whether the applicant persisted in the program or accepted an IIT seat by reporting in the past. Applicants whose admission to IITs was cancelled (for whatever reason) after enrolling in any IIT are likewise unable to take the JEE Advanced 2025 exam.
- Those who were admitted to a preparatory course at any of the IITs for the first time in 2024 may compete in JEE Advanced 2025.
- Applicants who were assigned a seat in an IIT through JoSAA but did not report "online" or withdrew before the last round of seat assignment or had their ticket cancelled (for whatever reason) before the last round of seat allotment for IITs are eligible to take JEE Advanced 2025.
