RRB NTPC exam date 2025: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is expected to conduct the first stage of the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) Computer-Based Test (CBT 1) between May and June 2025. This examination is part of a large-scale recruitment effort to fill 11,558 NTPC vacancies. With over 1.21 crore applications submitted (1,21,67,679 to be exact), the competition is expected to be exceptionally fierce.
Given the overwhelming number of candidates, the CBT 1 examination will likely be held in several shifts each day at different centers across the country. RRB NTPC 2025: Exam pattern overview
The Computer-Based Test (CBT 1) for the RRB NTPC 2025 recruitment will comprise 100 objective-type questions, all to be answered within a 90-minute duration. The paper is segmented into three main sections: Mathematics (30 questions), General Intelligence and Reasoning (30 questions), and General Awareness (40 questions). Each question carries one mark, making the total paper worth 100 marks. Time management and strategic preparation across all sections are essential for optimizing overall performance.
Category-wise minimum qualifying marks
To advance to the next stage of the selection process, candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks in CBT 1 as per their respective categories. The required percentage is 40% for General and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates, 30% for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and SC (Scheduled Caste) candidates, and 25% for ST (Scheduled Tribe) candidates. Those meeting these benchmarks will be considered for shortlisting to CBT 2, which may include up to 15 times the number of announced vacancies.
