The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the list of UGC schemes that will continue up to September 30, 2020, on its official website.
A public notice in this regard released by UGC instructed that "In continuation to the Public Notice No. F.1-8/2016 (JS/F/CPP-II) dated 26 March 2019, it is informed to all concerned that the UGC schemes mentioned at annexure will continue up to 30.09.2020."
The list released by UGC includes Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs): SWAYAM, Establishment of Centres in Universities for study of social exclusion and inclusive policy, Women's Studies in Higher Educational Institutions, UGC research awards for faculty, fellowships for post-doctoral researchers, fellowships for doctoral students, scholarships for post-graduate students, Maulana Azad National Fellowship for the minority students, national fellowship for students with disabilities, national fellowship for SC candidates, national fellowship for other backward classes etc.
The schemes including Special Assistance Programme, Centre with Potential for Excellence in a Particular Area (CPEPA), Colleges with Potential for Excellence/College of Excellence will be continued only up to the approved period of their tenure (in each case) by UGC.
