Following in the footsteps of the International Institute of Information Technology, the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IIT-H) has revised its academic calendar for January-May 2020 semester that was suspended midway due to Covid-19 pandemic.
As per the revised academic schedule, the institute has decided to conduct the January-May semester 2020 entirely online. Following the state government’s directives, the institute will be shut till May 7. However, it has decided to continue its online classes that commenced on April 1 and conduct semester examinations online.
As per the revised schedule, the teaching will conclude on May 1 following which semester exams shall be conducted. “For graduating students of 2020, the 1-4/3-4 segment exams were successfully conducted online in the first week of April. In a similar manner, the end semester examinations will be conducted online in the second week of May,” reads the revised academic schedule.
Exams for those not graduating in 2020 will be held in July. “Other students who do not graduate in 2020 will give their final examinations/presentations/viva-voce during the second and third weeks of July 2020, subject to further instruction from the government. These students are asked to return to the campus by July 1 to enable them interact with course instructors before the final examination,” it said.
