The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has extended the last date to apply for the remaining reserved seats for SC,ST community students in the six campuses of IIMC across India. As per the latest notification, the last date has been extended until August 31.

IIMC Admissions 2019:

According to officials, 32 seats reserved for SC/ST candidates were available for offline admission in Post Graduate Diploma Courses in Journalism and Mass Communication across its six campuses. IIMC conducted the entrance exam and interview at 10 am on August 26 for the same.

About IIMC:

Inaugurated on August 17, 1965, by the then Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Indira Gandhi, the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) started with a small staff, including two consultants from UNESCO.

In the first few years, the Institute organised training courses mainly for Central Information Service Officers and undertook research studies on a modest scale. In1969, a major international training programme, the Post-graduate Diploma Course in Journalism for Developing Countries, for middle level working journalists from Afro-Asian countries, was started.
