Eligibility

Those who want to make a career in interior designing can straight away pursue a Bachelor's in Interior Designing or first complete Bachelors in designing followed by a diploma in Interior Designing. There are national/state/institute level interior design entrance exams which assess the design aptitude, perception, logical reasoning, general proficiency, etc. of a candidate.

The aspirants can also study other courses such as graduation in architecture, fine arts, design, environmental planning or a post-graduate program in a similar field. Specialization in a particular area of interior designing can be done depending on your choice. For example; you can choose a business design or residential design or landscape designing.

A budding interior designer should know various Design Softwares such as Auto CAD, Sketch Up, 3D modelling. These softwares can help the designer put the vision and ideas from his head into virtual creations and present the same to clients. The interior designer needs to constantly research and read and keep track of the newest materials etc. in the market. An interior designer needs to be Artistic, Analytical, Client-oriented.
