Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday commenced the online application process for the Indian Economic Service Examination 2020.
The interested and eligible candidates can apply for UPSC IES examination 2020 through the Commission's website — upsconline.nic.in.
The last date to submit the online application for the IES examination is September 1, 2020.
Information available on the application page reads "Applicants should note that there will be a ceiling on the number of candidates allotted to each of the Centres except Ahmedabad (only IES), Chennai, Delhi (only IES & CMS), Dispur, Kolkata, and Nagpur. Allotment of Centres will be on the 'first-apply-first allot' basis, and once the capacity of a particular Centre is attained, the same will be frozen. Applicants are, thus, advised that they may apply early so that they could get a Centre of their choice."
Nationality
The nationality of the candidate should be any of the following:
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) & (5) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him/her by the Government of India.
Age Limits
A candidate should have attained the age of 21 years and should not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August 2020 i.e he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August 1990 and not later than 1st August 1999. Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.
Minimum Educational Qualifications
Applicants for the Indian Economic Service should have obtained a postgraduate degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/ Econometrics from a University incorporated by of an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutes established by an Act Parliament or declared to be deemed as University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or a Foreign University approved by the Central Government from time to time.
